  2. i bought a secondhand vnt turbo set up, I'm having problems with the actuator, i cant seem to get it working, the vains in the turbo move, what has everybody else fitted? I've found the information for a 2.8 tgv actuator but nobody can find one for sale, I've found this picture of a set up, has anybody tried it? I've tried turbo technics and they weren't very helpful apart from phone bell auto services up
  3. Hi I've a eBay egt gauge, I've drilled and tapped the manifold for the sensor and wired the gauge up, it lights up with the ignition, but doesn't move, I've replaced the sensor and it makes no difference, if there is no sensor it reads to the max and with one wired up it stays on the bottom? The sensor wires are white and blue the dial is red switched live black earth white and finally green ive emailed the seller and had nothing back
  4. Hi I have a 1985 ex mod 110, with side lockers, has anybody fitted a eBay side exit exhaust? I've just fitted a 200tdi so I'm thinking it might be easier to fit one of these if it will fit. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111618087239
  5. Thanks for the photo has anybody else going to post there door trims they've made or bought
  6. I spent awhile looking on eBay, iron goat panels look good just the price, I thought or make some, I would just like some ideas the series ones seem expensive for vinyl covered mdf, the us spec trims are expensive I found the part numbers and checked
  7. any reccomendations for door cards for a ex mod 110, I've looked at a couple on american websites, priced up the wolf door skins and scared myself, any ideas out there? thanks dj
  8. my kit has arrived, has anybody a link to the instructions how to fit to a soft top? I'm slowly finishing off the small jobs and emptying the back so i can start the engine swap with less things hanging around
  9. Thanks a lot, I've been looking on and off for ages, spent an hour last night as well!
  10. are there any kits for sale I've been looking for my 110 but cant find any, been looking for 12 months
  11. I've done some reading about usin standard springs and was offered the old man emu at a decent price, I haven't a mega budget, hopefully I should find cranked arms second hand
  12. Just sent you a message, can't see it being on the road for a good few months, hopefully it's getting there
  13. I've had a set of 35 inch high tyres for my 110, people are giving different information what i should do to the suspension, i have just bought a set of +2 old man emu springs, I've also cut the wheel arches higher up and mounted wider arches. will i need to fit spring spacers to lift it an extra inch? some people have said a 2 inch lift is fine and others it needs to be taller? what is a decent budget shock? terrafirma +5 or anything else? i know i will have to fit cranked arms and a few other jobs, I'm just about to fit a 200 tdi engine with a vnt, so the next job is the suspension, I'm trying to build it right the first time, so what have other people done? the trucks going to be used for the occasional commute to work, camping trips, green laning and fun, so I'm just trying to get some information on what other people have done, I've still the mod spec low transfer box so the gearing should be ok.
  14. I've been looking at making a snorkel for my ex mod 110, there are no air vents on the wings, so I'm going to make my own pipe work, the only thing I'm having trouble finding is the top of the air filter (mushroom) is it possible to have the air filter built in? I'm swapping engines in the future so it will be beneficial for it to be out of the engine bay, the donaldson type seem to be pre cleaners, the same as most of the tractor ones, has anybody else done this? I've read lots of posts, even emailed dakar 4x4 any help would be great
  15. thanks a lot for all the advice, i like the idea of the box dave ashcroft was talking about with the big torque convertor, I dont think I've enough cash to pay ash crofts so I'm looking at rebuilding one myself, i have a v8 zf box from a discovery to start with, hi dave have you a price for the conversion plate? I'm just trying to build a decent box to last, the price of a modified r380 seems a bit high. i haven't been able to reply with working a few long shifts
