  1. Any one know how the wiring goes i know it goes battery to starter then does it go to the alternator and ignition switch
  2. I tried this morning to eliminate the battery by connecting jump leads to my car straight to the battery terminals when not connected to battery and still no signs of life.
  3. Hi starting to post regular now about my 90. I have had the battery out the motor on charge for last 24hours I thought I put it back on today and change the battery terminals as they looked a bit rusty. Fitted the terminals put battery back in thought here we go. Tried to start it gave it a few seconds of glow plugs then started cranking it started turning over for about 5 seconds or so then just stopped. Now I have no ignition lights and get no cranking at all. Battery all connected ok tried a different battery put on old terminals. The only power I get is to the start motor and to the little flashing led I get on my dash. No power to starter relay all fuses in fuse box are ok. Has anyone got any ideas it almost like their is a bug fuse someone which has popped but I don't think there is one. Any ideas .??? Thanks in advance
  4. It's a 200 tdi I going to check the earths and maybe look at the timing.
  5. I be checking the earths at weekend. Just to add to the strangeness when I got back last night I turned it off waiting a couple of mins and it wouldn't start. This afternoon I thought I just try it and it turned over a few times and started. Work that one out. If the fuel is turned up too much would that cause it to struggle to start. Also someone suggested check the timing could that be causing it to be intermittent starting.
  6. I getting really getting annoyed with my 90. I drive ten miles stop at a shop for a couple of minutes come out turn it over and it struggles to turn over and dont strart. I then push it as i parked on a little slope and bang starts straight away. I not used it since sunday but it started fine when i left my house. I got a battery meter when its running its on 13.8v so it seems the alternator is working fine. Its happened a few time when its slow to turn over if i connect jump leads it will turn over fast and start with ease. Am i looking at a duff battery it currently has a red top optima battery in it.
  7. Hi I have a LR 90 1986 used to be a normally aspirated. Yesterday it failed the MOT on no sealling rubber on the fuel cap. It has a large vented 2 lug non locking cap does anyone know should there be a rubber washer on there if so where can I get one from. The looks to be a cork ring in the filler neck where the cap goes but it is slightly wasting away so I could do with replacing that if anyone know the number for it. Would this cork ring be enough for mr MOT man to pass it.
  8. Hi I have got my reversing camera kit all ready to fit but I can't work out how to mount the mirror it's a bit big how have you guys done it. Do I cut my old mirror up and use the ball mount glued to the new mirror. How have you trimmed your sun visors to stop them hitting the mirror.
  9. I spent a long time when I first got my 90 looking why my dash lights didn't work until my mate turn the switch on that's next to hazard switch
  10. Hi as per title really I can get hold of a good Discovery lt77 to replace my whining, Leaking, and a pain to get in gear Defender LT77. but will it fit or what do I need to do to make it fit its on a 200tdi. Also whilst I am at it is it worth putting the 1.2 transfer box in I don't do towing so that's not a problem but I do have 35 inch mud tyres. Will I lose much acceleration with the 1.2 box. Thanks in advance. Baz
