we had aload of laylandie to bring down and it was leaning over towards my mums office so i said to dad wait ill get the bobtail out so we put the ranger in the feild with about 50 ft of roap on the front then dad cut half way round the tree and floored it and it came flying of like a gooden

landrover gardening is the best way B)

  2. I'm in the sudbury area of suffolk and all the ones i used to drive have got TRO's on them. i have resorted to going over the border, Essex council dont seem to like spoiling our fun as much. i have an old copy of Total off road that has a great 60mile route planed out starting from just over the border and me and my mates often spend a sunday following the route, takes a good 7hrs with all the stoping for pics.

im near bures and we go out on lanes over stebbing way and stisted over near stansted braintree there quite good

  3. Per winch!!!! 2 total, job done! Get the right batteries and the right alternator and you're away. More batteries mean more weight. More weight means you need more power used. More power used means more batteries needed..... As Colin Chapman said "Just add lightness"

I've got 2 x yellow top optima's (I've always been happy with them) and the world's largest alternator (its 90 amp but it gives it at nice low revs B) ) to go on mine.

the only thjing i was thinking was if you draine the batterys then the alternator will be under alot of load

but we had realised weight was an issue specially as he is running three winches 3 yellow tops and two red tops at the moment

  5. ok so we have had whos got the biggest dent in there chassis cross member competition so i thouhgt we should do a "whos got there truck the muddiest" and "whos got stuck the worst"

so people can add ther photos for both copmpetitions then we need judges

there will be no prizes apart from being known as the muddy landrover on the web

any ideas how to improve this please say

young bobtail rhys is our judge

    cheers rhys

  6. Simex could be better on road but the boggers are acceptable. I disagree (sorry Will) about the "as long as its not sand or bog" comment, The boggers are better on rock, in the wood on tree roots and leafy mulch, when its hard packed, when its hard packed with a slippery layer on top, When its just soft mud, Pretty much all round really. Not as stable on high speed sections as a simex but everywhere else they win, hands down. Also THERE IS NO SIDE SLOPE ISSUE, I was worried about this when I bought them as people had spoken about it. I drive side slopes on my boggers that most people wont even attempt and they are brilliant, I have every confidence in them.

steve what ratio diffs do you use wityh the boggers

and are you useing the 38.5 boggers

    thankyou watson

  7. I'd second Super Swamper Tyres Europe. Nice chaps, very helpful and good prices. That's where I got mine. However, you need plenty of power and a very sorted drivetrain to get the best out of them. What do you plan using the truck for? I only ask as Boggers realistically make the car into a trailer queen. Simex are a lot better on road and still cut it as long as the sites not sand or bog.

I guess from the fact your using ep's front means that it won't be a comp car. They are good winches but too slow and the drum's too small.

Sounds like a good project - traybacks are sooooo last season ;)

it will be a comp car

the only reason i thought e.p.9 on the front is because you can buy to e.p.9 for the price of an 8274

my plan was to buyild up a fully gigglepinned 8274 as and when i have the money
