I know it wont sort your hi/lo out chaps but have you considered using the Disco II diff lock mechanism? Is a remote cable operated affair designed to operate the diff lock on the LT230 box.

What do you think???
Place your bets now!!!
Sory Les........

Les,
From genuine manual:-
Lubricate bolts with light oil and torque to 40NM. Then 60 degree on all bolts, then 60 degrees.
I take it you've got the correct tightening sequence!

Better not mention vasoline to prime the V8 pump then
Try telling the chemist that with a straight face when you ask for a supersize tub of vasoline and an economy pack of disposable gloves?
It was when I was having trouble getting the pump primed - and I returned to the chemist for the 3rd "family sized" pot of the stuff (all in the same afternoon) they strated looking at me a bit odd. I tired the "its for my car...........honest" but they just looked down their noses at me..........
Sigh...........

Ok I'm probably missing something here, but if you're running a 300TDi chassia and a 300Tdi body why not just run a 300 Tdi tank too????
Standard plumbing would then do the job surely?

Well I'll say one thing...........
Its.........
RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Right............you need the flywheel drilled to take the smaller clutch. You need the clutch plate that is relevant to the gearbox not the engine. If you're gonna run a series box you need a series clutch plate, if you're gonna run an LT77 then you need a 90 clutch plate. Clutch covers so far as I can see are the same. I couldnt see any difference between a series 3 one and a 90 one. (series 2 is totally different).
Other thing you'll need to think about is how to get round the spigot bush problem. I truned down the input shaft form the gearbox and did things that way.

Nice idea - shame landrover wiring diagrams dont tie up with that colour code!
My best suggetsion is to study the factory wiring diagrams.
Not really much else I can say!

Tig - no probs
MIG - no worries
Mig no worries??? Eh???
Agree no probs with TIG.
With MIG you need pure argon gas, and you actually ned to turn it up casue ally conducts heat better than steel so it needs more current as it conducts the heat away.
However ally doesnt glow red hot like steel does so its very very difficult to tell how hot you're getting it.
You'll also need a teflon liner for the gun, as ally wire is very veyr bendy its kind of like trying to weld with solder rather than wire!
It is possible, however its not at all easy!

Er.........we both use Es3000's.........
Nah - the only reason your 90 isnt that heavy is casue you get everyone else to drive your clobber around! Your kittygripper is still in the back of my truck from slindon!
Ah..........the hybrid.........I remember stripping that..........the "spacer" under the cubby box..........a 12"x12" square of 1" thick solid steel!!!!!!!! A bit of MDF would have done the job!!!!
