    Brake disc

there are a lot of posts about these issues, but see the example of Jericho and is SIIA. Nice LR
  2. Hi, This pré-TDi engine is limited in power but is it reliable? What cares we should take and what we should look with care when buying? Regards,
  3. the block went porous? what was the solution to this? new block???
  4. 1.5 l each 100 km both new new as well swapped two years ago the tests will be executed thanks
  5. Hi, V8 engine drinks water but, no leak found... water doesn't enter in the cylinders or it's found on the sump; no apparent leaks shown in floor; temperature ok; water level in radiator when engine is working goes up and down. Any idea???? The engine runs on LPG. Regards,
  6. Hi, There are available in the market inner wings for series? I remember something but don't know where. Cheers,
  7. thanks Jim, wear in the gearbox mainshaft (where it goes into the transferbox) tell me please what is method to check this easily?
  8. Hi, I know relatively well the 300 tdi defenders, but when buying what points I should look?
  9. Thanks to both, the photos are very helpful It's now clear for me. Best Regards,
  10. Hi Western, Thanks, the photo cleared a bit my mind, but it's possible to take/post another photo from left hand side of the defender? Cheers,
  11. Hi, How many types of exhaust manifolds are available in the 200 tdi engine? I appreciate if pictures are posted. Thanks
  12. To be honest I don't how much splines it has, but in the past I contacted Paul Heystee and he told me that these cv's joints weren't available and he had prevision to made more. But, maybe, are available now.
  13. Yes it's true, Spain is 1h30 far away from here. So is not that far. I already went to Spain and bought the Santana engine and front discs. But, to be honest never thought on that possibility. I will check out as well if it is improved relatively to original LR. If I remember well the diff ratio is 3.54:1, is only thing I know and I'm not certain of that.
  14. well... a lot of solutions, some are feasible some not: new half shaft with the same configuration - sooner or later I will be here enquiring again new stock half shafts with 24 spline ( still 10 spline on the diff???) - better but not the best stage one configuration, very good option series trek, quite expensive Great Basin Rover, quite all right the axle swap for Salisbury and ENV aren't really good solutions in mine opinion (I know that I suggested this before). Both are difficult to find here (Portugal), and after some enquiries concluded that the availability of parts is uncommon. May be I have a nice conversation with Santa and fit an ARB as well...
  15. Yes, it's available and easy to get ARB here. The big problem is that there are rare strong solutions available for the Series... Sooner or later I will swap the complete axles, but it still under studies.
  16. Bill, Thank you for the tip. But can I ask you just one more question? What parts I should swap in this Rover diff to obtain one similar to the Stage one?
  17. In a short period of time I have the second front diff failure. Another half-shaft that refused to cooperate. My rear axle is a Salisbury with an ARB, but the front axle is a weak Rover diff, open differential with 10 spline half shafts. From the beginning I knew that it was a weak point in mine transmission. I know where I can find a front Salisbury, but I has told that is quite difficult to find exchange parts to these differentials. What I really want to know if I really increase the strengthness of the differentials if I swap the 10 spline half shafts by 24 spline. Thanks,
  18. I think the 6l one ton bulletproof have Salisbury on both axles. But, is maybe silly but the 101 FC axles can be easily fitted in a Series?
  19. Last weekend I went to the interior of Portugal and I drove in Caramulo mountains. Very beautiful and good for off road practice. The videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUq5LGk5fZk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKFkNFIEDok http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo_MLoKxwIA
  20. The Santana gearboxes are usually stronger and are a good choice in mine honest opinion. But is already a 5 speed gearbox? If it is the 5 speed gearbox is mandatory to modify the chassis and propeller shaft. Because it is longer, even by a small distance, with the frame. I never drove any LR with this gearbox, but the opinion is always the same. Is very stronger and reliable but a little hard to use it. Another point when dimensioning a gearbox is the torque that is taking in account and not the power. If you increase the power of your engine will only get hotter the oil.
  21. I fit Tic springs in mine and I'm very pleased with them. The ride is fantastic. Regards,
  22. Hi, Does anyone install a steering pump in a SIII engine? What pump is the best option and where I can fit it? Thanks
  23. I found one disadvantage in this solution: - move the cross-member to me is, yes it's a disadvantage, I would prefer another that I can fit in the exterior of chassis, just because I have a new galv chassis. Other question but related. I don't want to change te engine for the moment. I have the 2.25 diesel engine, and naturally is limit to fit one oil pump for PAS. What I should do here?
