  1. Good idea!!! They know for sure, I guess...
  2. If I only knew... I hope you have a better memory then me To be honest I don´t know, I only remember that I saw it.
  3. Yes, I agree with the solution and is alternative, but I'm looking for a really alternative solution. I search in my eldest LRO but no luck so far. I remember one handy fellow that fit in a very straight way the VW Polo heating system under the bonnet in a SIII. Any idea where I can find it???
  4. Hi, Some time ago (some years ago) I found one article in the LRO magazine where it was presented how to fit an VW Polo heater in a SIII. Anyone knows what I'm talking about and where I can find it? Regards,
  5. LOL good luck, and any doubt feel free to ask. I don't if can answer all but, at least I will try
  6. Yes, I agree, the only problem that it will be found some miles later are related with the valves seats. I suggest to swap the engine head with one for unleaded petrol.
  7. Only if you have the steering in the "right" side To be clear you to modify the RHD chassis engine mount
  8. In the case you have all cooling system from the 2.5 d, it's worth to swap all parts? What benefits you can have?
  9. Hi, 3 months is too short in my opinion, even if you work everyday. But is possible depending in your experience, parts and cash availability. Other important question, if you are doing a real restoration do it as better as possible. Don't forget certain question. Do it properly, you can avoid re-do it again... About certain mods that you think that you should include, think always in the use that you will do to your Land Rover. My experience tell me this. I rebuilt a SIIA of 69, mainly to some off-road (light and safe ) and small travels. But it past months without running, because I had no time to enjoy it, and I found the LR with minor faults due to the lack of driving. Then I decided to use it in daily basis, not everyday but at least 2 days per week. I found it not suitable to do this properly. Thanks to that at the moment I'm doing some mods. LT 77 LT 230 (from a 90 2.5 n/a) axles from a disco 24 splines (with all the safety items included) PAS About the engine I'm limited thanks to Portuguese legislation, but if I live in the UK my choice it would be a 200/300 tdi. A better engine fit better in spec presented, but at moment I'm certain that I gain in comfort and drive ability. Good luck
  10. I believe in this scenario. R&D - Gaydon Production Luxury vehicles - UK Utility vehicles - Asia But TATA, still have one problem in hands. The NEW DEFENDER for the European and American Market. The Rest of The World the actual defender is OK, but the new laws and standard limit a lot the actual defender. And the utility market is important and nowadays all brands are only interested in fancy SUV....
  11. Hi, I heard that the new LR owner is the Indian Automotive company TATA. It's true??? It was already annouced???
  12. elliptical springs, and the rest is ok
  13. Hi, O/D is more flexible, I know one SIIA LWB with the ashcroft transfer gear kit. The owner isn't totally pleased with it, because all gears raise their final ratio. Sometimes uphill the engine isn't enough. But after a while he get used to the new final ratio. I have O/D and I'm happy with it, probably is more iffy then the solution that ashcroft have, but for the moment is working well. Regards,
  14. one old fellow told me this saying "don´t swap the good by the new"
  15. The dashboard, the manual accelerator, the windows are from a Series 3. Maybe the gear level is from a IIA or II. The series 3 start their production in 1971, but there are models of transition. But to be honest I don't what kind of items are included in the transition models. Only for the interior, is a series 3. But show more pictures of the exterior to conclude it better.
  16. Hi, As far as I can see, is a series 3 Land Rover. The interior is from a series 3. Only the seats aren´t original, believing in my knowledge. What is year of the LR?
  17. A friend showed me some photos of is future classic. One fantastic S1 of 53, but I found 3 knob in the interior similar to a S2 or S3. The black, the yellow and the red knob. This is original?
  18. I intend to change the diff ratio as well. The final ratio is same as defender has.
  19. Hi, The SIII speedometer is compatible with the LT230? If not, what I should do? Regards,
  20. Hi, New head gasket for the moment... Let's see if that is enough
