My roof lining descended gradually over the last few years until the inside of the car looked like being inside a Beduin tent. I finally resorted to Hand Tacking the material back to the styrene lining. Looks strange but it works. My question is, has anyone found a more satisfactory way of re-attaching the tent to the roof or even had any alternative ideas as to its replacement?

Air Con / Heater...Nowt works ( used to, suddenly stopped)!
Must start somewhere, I've checked the fuse and that's OK, now I think "relay" for the Fan motor but where the heck is it and how do I recognise it, Another help would be ( when identified) how do I test it? I'm an electrical numbskull!
My '93 TDI has developed a noticeable damp patch and occasional drip from the rear axle input bearing oil seal. I've read up on my Rave disc and it seems I will need a special tool if I am to replace the seal. Question; Do I really need the special tool or can I make do? and, how rapidly can I expect the leak to worsen bearing in mind that I am very low mileage but am off roading 50% of the time 'cause I live half way up a mountain in Southern Spain!
Spares cost the Earth down here!
I'm interested in this thread solely because my heater/air con on my '93 200 TDI has packed up and I've been wondering where to start. What leads you to look at the relay in this instance, if I might ask?
The top photo is the '93 model, probably a Vogue judging by the wheels. Mine is registered late August of that year and has the 200 TDI engine (+ Manual Box ) which is a cracker as far as I'm concerned. Arguably the best diesel LR ever made, imho! I agree about the Automatic version however.
I have a '93 and the same thing happened to me while I was changing the steering box. I just pushed it back up and it has been fine...therefor I assume it is in two sliding pieces and is meant to do that.
