Good afternoon gentlemen
Well as from my last post my landrover 90 died on me the day before I went on holiday, turned out to be the main shaft had snapped in the gearbox, I've had the box re con and delivered back to the garage that then rang me and asked to come have a look because they couldn't get reverse, phoned the bloke that done it and told him to get his backside upto to the garage asap and get it sorted.
Next day get a phone call from the gearbox T%*t oh there's nothing wrong with it I got all the gears.
Garage called and asked me to come have a look and see what I thought, well I drove lots of landrovers whilst I was in the military and now having my own one the gearbox didn't seem right to me. He told me the gearbox bloke was slapping the leaver acroos and smacking it into reverse, I'm no expert but I don't do that when I'm driving.
Question is should when you put it into 5th gear and let go of the stick it shoots back across 3inch towards the centre of the dash??????
And you shouldn't have to slap it rally quick into reverse should you?
Just need some info before tomorrow when all hell is going to break loose as I've parted with £995 for this and now not very bloody happy
Jim
