  1. Just had the pleasure of haveing my Ebay account stolen.

Appears to have been done at about 3pm this afternoon, approx half a dozen items where listed and then an email came through confirming change of email address. By now my password has been changed and I cant figure out any way in.

I've done the email Ebay bit but dont hold out much hope.

What I want to know is can I cancel the whole account? Dont want to loose 3 years worth of feedback but I dont want to keep paying to list bloody hoovers!!!

Any way of actually getting the account back?!

Last time I had "issues" with Ebay they where useless, but the police (in particular Neath) where really really good and actually tracked down the person responsible (got my money back as well). Any ideas if they can do anything this time?

For the curious the user ID is woodrowsparky.

  2. I've just bought an N.A.S. front cage for the 90 and now want to attach some spots to the top of the cage, there are no brackets welded onto the cage, so i was wondering what the best way would be to attach the lights to the cage without welding brackets on? Is there any kind of tube clamp or bracket you can buy and if so where can i get them from??

    cheers

Its not a NAS one then. All genuine ones have the tabs.

In the past I've used jubilee clips on my own, if you get it right when you hit them they just twist round rather than smash the light to bits.

  3. I will, sometime in the future, be sticking an autobox into my90, i was wondering if anyone on here has a 50th anniversary or a NAS auto 90, could measure where the brake pedal comes down through the bulkhead.

I'm thinking that a) the factory auto's have a *special* bulkhead with differently spaced holes for the brake pedal to stick through, or B) they just have the clutch pedal holes blanked off, and the brake pedal (and servo etc) are all in the "normal" place (albiet with a bigger pedal on).

    TIA.

    Jamie

Can do you photos of a 50th and an Ashcroft TD5 auto if it helps, but they're both in the normal place.

Do you remember ages ago I had some 1 ton rims and tyres off you? That 100" I was in is auto but with the steering column moved over slightly into the space left from the master cylinder. Makes a nicer driveing position.

  4. I'm currently "looking after" a 110 DCPU for a mate and have a query that I hope some one out there will be able to help with.

It's fitted with alloys and the spare is just loose in the back, not ideal for a couple of reasons including the fact that it's bouncing all over the place and is available to any pikey to help themselves to should they take a fancy to it!!

I can figure out that it mounts to the bulkhead behing the rear seats as there's a mounting bolt for it but I've got no nut or brackets. Does any one have one they could take a pic of so I can figure things out? (A bodge..) I've not got the hand book either.

    Cheers

    Charlie

Yup, got one as my demo. Give me a few mins and I'll post some hptos.

  5. Thanks Dave. The guy said he wants £1500 for it, I wondered about offering a little less. Perhaps Bish has a point about buying a V8 and spending the change on petrol. Mind you, I suspect that 1500 miles with the caravan in tow will see off the price difference in one hit! :)

    Chris

    £1500?! He's dreaming!!

As above they just arent worth the money. I know of a soft dash with replacement engine and box (300 auto) for a little under 3k.

  6. I hold my hands up and say I know nothing (with a capital N) about Rangies, but I'm looking for a workhorse for aprox a year and have come across a local Rangie for sale (1987) V8 with 10 months tax/test for £800. It says is a good runner, but what are the major concerns here? What should I check for my £800??

I need it to last a year and then sell it!...... or maybe...........get into the Rangie thing?

    Rust!

  7. I've a friend with a 110 county 12 seater, E reg 2.5 turbo (not tdi).

A kind soul borrowed it and cooked the engine, which now only just runs and sounds very nasty.

Question is how to proceed from here??

How much would a decent 2nd hand motor cost?

What would the car be worth as is? - or when fully repaired??

My initial feelings are that it is probably worth repairing, but I haven't a clue how much a replacement motor would cost.

Anybody care to give their tuppence worth??

    Thanks

110s are makeing good money at the moment. We just sent a good E plate TD to auction, nice condition, it made £3300.

If this one is solid and reasonable its worth doing well. Cheap option is a s/h 2.5 turbo and out it quick. Nice option is either a Disco 200 or Defender 200.

  8. Land Rover are in the process of getting rid of their current G4 Defender fleet ahead of the new vehicles arriving for the G4 event in 2006. Before you rush to phone to buy one, a couple of weeks ago, they had just one left. I know this because my mate was offered one of the last ones by a contact at LR. Asking price was approx £18k-ish, but and it's a BIG but, the cars were being offered totally stripped of all their extras!

    Kev

Kev, there was an ex-engineering G4 110 in the last LR closed auction. Not sure what it made though.
