You could link it with an immobiliser so the car wouldn't set off in the first place. I had thought of hydrogen sulphide, but that would corrode bits of the car and CO2 is cheap and easy to get in cylinders.
Yea slightly more sensible and legal, however there nothing stopping him then, booting the **** out of your, moving on to next door's car, or your house! But with mr OilIT idea you just call an ambulance, go inside and have a cuppa while you wait

HMM - Your right - instant death would be much better - me thinks a few KV through the steering wheel would ensure no innocent parties are injured in the making of this alarm system + they woudlant have chance to inflict any damage to the car either.
Spot on..with maybe a washer jet to spray Frebrezze on his smoldering and almost certianly smelly corpse?

I thought of a tape recorder and a gas bottle. When the car is stolen a recorded voice says "Gas is being released, you will die" and then a valve opens to release the gas of your choice into the car.
I'd favour CO2, so if they tried to torch it, the fire would be put out.
Nice idea! But you could land yourself in some very hot water when the moron car thief tries to drive the car away anyway (cause lets face it, he's no booker prize winner ) passes out because you you just filled the car with CO2 and mows down the the lolly-pop-lady and anyone she may be helping across the road.......think you'd have some explaining to do when "plod" comes knocking
Still.....I like the idea B)

it's reasonably visable....it's yellow and in his hand!

ok maybe see if you can find an online owners manual?
maybe try the hammer then, I tried with my but it was just ****ed, but you haven't driven thru a lake...4 times so the hammer may work
unless anyone else has any ideas?
-
ok, if there's def power to it and there isn't any wires hanging off or broken, then you could try hitting the starter with a hammer, could just need a little persuading...
have you looked for that light in the haynes manual?
-
ok then from my "reconing" when I was doing mine the power is going to the starter, it's just not turning...do you have a electrical tester?
-
that shouldn't stop it working tho.
when you turn the key does a solanoid "click" in the fuse panel?
-
No (only about three of the lights work on mine) I assume you've looked in the haynes manual?
-
Interesting.........they'd better fit in my golf then eh?

If you have a driveway, put a fan heater in the back of the car the night before and then, when you get up, turn it on. When you then go out (half hour?) later it will be toasty warm in the car and there will be no ice on the windows. If you are lucky the car heater will start to give off it's usual tiny amount of heat before the inside gets cold again.
Chris
ooooo I like that a lot!!...off to Argos for a heater me thinks!

I work for a leasing company and we get more enquries on and deliver more Range Rover Sports than any other manufacturer let alone any other individual model...so they're certainly selling well and Chris is right there's a lot of 07 Defenders on the road now....but I do seem to notice those more than the Sports for some reason B)

Sorry to mention a different forum, but saw this on there before I saw "the light" of LR4x4.com errr don't know how to do the links so:
http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/new-defen...eady-42191.html
or here's his website:
www.bellautoservices.co.uk
It's still £449...but with you seem to get a good amount of "bang for your bucks".

Couldn't think of an answer
What do you think?
How do you mean? performance? off road? or in the marketplace (as in you'd ether buy that or a.....)?

worse still is when im driving a tractor with 14 tonne of grain or beet on the back and they think im actually going to put myself and the trailer onto a soft verge?? think again sunshine!
During summer the floods I was towing my mate's flooded and fooked Astra to a a friends farm on a backroad with my mate in front in his car to clear traffic as the main road was closed so the back road was busy, we were also following my mate's dad in a tractor with an grain trailer...we met a queue of 4 cars who wouldn't reverse!!! we're towing a trailer and broken a car FFS! in the end my mates dad in the tractor had to reverse into into a gateway and i had to just drive my truck into the hedge! pulling the Astra in with me!! grrrrrr

I've just shopped around for my BFG MT's, local tyre places seem to be the way forward as the 4x4 places seem (in my experiance) to be a bit over priced on BFG, but I went to a normal tyre place and got them fitted, balance and with the VAT for less than any of the 4x4 suppliers could offer them +VAT off the shelf then fitting balancing on top....I went through website, let me see if I can find it....
