  1. only if the R380 is the short shaft version, you can just swap the transferbox for your existing one, & if it's a Discovery TB you may find it has the 1.2:! ratio gears on the high range side.

so what has the short shaft r380 fitted?

i didnt think a discovery t/box will fit cuz of the gearstick and trans stick being the wrong way around?

  2. My 90 has a disco 200tdi engine fitted, and im persuming i have the original lt77 g/box and lt230r t/box fitted as the disco g/box wouldnt fit.

my front prop has lots of play in the front u/j, so i bought a 2nd hand prop thats supposed to be a lt77 prop upto 1993, but went i got the old one off last nite the new prop is shorter?

i measured the two and got these measurements,

Original Prop, compressed 670mm, and extended 690mm

2nd hand prop, compressed 630mm and extended 650mm

all rough figures but shudnt be far away!

can anyone explain what ive got fitted or what i have bought?

  3. Had my 90 fail its M.O.T. today, one of the reasons being that the Hazard warning tell tale was not working on the switch itself. Thing is i dont ever remember there being any illumination on the switch itself only on the dash, which does illuminate when the hazards are on..

I found this on an M.O.T. site

A hazard warning device is not required by Regulation, but, if one is fitted, it must be tested.

The hazard warning lamp 'tell tale' may be a separate light or the same as the indicator 'tell-tale. However, it must be a flashing light

surely the light flashing on the dash negates the need for one on the switch.. and does the switch have flashng illumination anyway? Coz if it does i cant rememebr seeing it either onmy current 200 TDI or the previous one, can anyone confirm this?

im a mot tester, if it was me, youve got to think, how can you prove its got a light fitted or that option fitted, if it doesnt work? so in my opinion it would be pass and advise

  4. Sorry no winch remote found do you know roughly by which punch or which area it went walkies? Widecombe is pretty big to check the whole lot!

i had a look around for it, but never found it, just wondering if anyone did stumble over it! it was where you came back on your self along the road, them there was the punch on the right in the bog that had a funny angled entrance to it, after the right hand corner!

  5. My first event down south, very well organised and laid out, Got to say a BIG thanks to bob smith (tree bloke) for all his help and advice over the weekend and for keeping me on 4 wheels when needed! Going to make a few changes for next year, looking forward to it! Didnt do too much damage, snapped a winch rope, dented a wing, and lost a wireless winch remote, did anyone find one? Lost it in Widcombe Moor somwhere!

  6. Looks like treebloke might have a bit of competion, not only from the mighty land of yam yams but the same little village.

Well it was little when my dad was a lad.

i wudnt say competition just yet, but il be there lurking at the back for now, in std class, but given time i may build up to modified! yeah wombourne was a little village when i my dad moved here apparently!

  7. i had this problem, you need that rear bracket as you cant take out all the slack with out it, you can get by by packing it out though but its only half a bodge!

at the moement the bracket is there and fastened to the back of the lever, but the cable just moves freely behind it, is the cable supposed to be fastened to the bracket?

  8. Provided his & your driving licences were issued prior to Jan 1997 you'll both be fine & the if Pajero is rated for towing 2.0tonnes or more there shouldn't be a problem.

thats the problem, post 97 licences! we have been towing the trailer around with smaller cars on for ages and have never had a problem or attracted attention. pajero towing weight is 2500! mmmm, what to do for the best!?

  9. rite, needs some peoples suggestions on this! im going to be needing to get my 90 to challenge events very soon, most are a fair distance from home! so i have a few options, do i risk driving it there and back? and use my aa card if the worst comes to the worst!? or do i trailer it there? need some suggestions as to what trailers are best to use and what are capable vehicles of towing 2 ton plus trailer?

    Thanks
