  1. All the stuff on my dash is still working marvellously :)

If only I could find out why it won't save the trip meter reading, minor I know but I like these things to work as they should.

    Mo

Looking at mine the trip reading would need a permanent 12v feed to keep it intact, just increasing the total reading on mine, & everytime I switch off the power supply the trip reverts to a 0.0 reading, it's OK if the power is left on. one of the wires needs a permanent feed via a 5amp fuse, maybe thats the trip save wire.

read it here on page 5

  2. started fittting my td5 guages, into my old/original panel, fitted the speedo and fuel gauge, everything works fine, apart from everytime i switch the engine off the trip resets! reading back through the topic, both western and mo had this problem! what cured it?

  3. well, quite a bad day for me, had winch motor problems on the front winch, would wind in but not out, and spent quite alot of time getting off the punch we were stuck on! luckily treebloke had a spare, so with that on we completed another 2 punches, where the alternator gave up and we ended up with flat batterys! so at 2 o'clock we were on the trailer ready to go home!

still a good day, gave us chance to watch for a while!

  4. when i changed the injection pump on mine, i had a right game getting it started! i ended up gravity feeding the pump from a container i mounted to a piece of hose attacted to the filter housing, as i just couldnt get it to pick up diesel from the tank! i let it run until the container was nearly empty, them switched the pipe over for the original one from the tank and all was well!

  5. yep changed a fair bit over the last 3 weeks, plenty off real late night finishes, kept it on the quiet from bob to surprise him, finished it a 1am this morning, and within 6 hours bert and dan spot me on the way to work! oh well, still a surprise all round i think! still got a few bits to finish, but doesnt look like il have time before next weekend as im on a course next week for work, but its near enough ready to go! just been down to bobs to show him! ;) and sorry dawn for copying the flags but something just didnt quite look right without them! :)

  6. i have my ordnance survey that i currently run off my laptop that i have to have sat on the cubby box when im using it, what i want to do is install a screen on the dash, that will show exactly what i currently see on the laptop screen, and make driving alot safer than swerving to miss those ditches that you nearly go down when you turn your head to look at the laptop!

can anyone give me any pointers as to what screen i need and what spec?how it connects to the laptop? and where to get one?

  7. im after some tyres for road use and laning, as my simex's constant drone over the 200miles i did at the weekend, was just too much for road use!

does anyone had any recomendations, or any pictures showing the wider tyres fitted?

ive been looking at some kumho KL71 35 12.50 15 as they are reasonably priced, but does anyone know what rim width id have to run with these?

  8. Gary Andrews is the man to speak too , IIRC he makes a set of 5 for about £100 , Thats for the rings and not the wheels .

i spoke to him yesterday, £110 for 16 inch, but he cant deliver for a few weeks at least! so thats why i was looking into making my own!

  9. ive been looking at these, and ive got a couple of queries!

1: how do they stop the inner bead from popping off the rim?

2: has anyone made their own? are the rings the exact same diameter as the rim? and what metal and thickness did you use?

3: any one got any pics showing how they are welded one?
