Hi there,
there used to be loads of door sliders around from various manufacturers, i am struggling to find any currently.
I am talking about the ones that bolt to the door mid way down to keep trees etc off them. X-Eng did them for a short period of time, ali box ones and ideally i am after a set of them or like them.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
like these, but just for the doors http://www.landrovertuning.com.au/defender/protection/alloy-body-slider-set-defender-90.html

Just to let you know we are starting our DRD's at both Wellington and Bampton in the near future. Dates are shown below.
These days offer a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some challenging off roading knowing you have recovery and advice on hand if required.
We run the days as maximum of 6 vehicle convoys which are guided around our tailor made routes.
The days are £50 per vehicle (as many people as you wish), we run from 1030hrs until 1530/1600hrs. If you book a sole day for six vehicles there is a 10% reduction.
You will need MT tyres, front and rear recovery points and to bring your own lunch/snacks.
All the sections have bypass routes and are optional, we can guide you around them if you feel it is more than what you wish to do that day.
Provisional dates are:
Wellington
Aug 17 and 25
Sep 8
Oct 6, 20
Nov 3
Bampton
17 Nov
Dec 1, 15, 29
Jan 12, 19

Please contact us if you wish to book a place. -

-
a 90 towing another 90 on a flatbed ifor at 50mph.
-
i dont think TJ101 trayback (sold on last month) will be running for a while!
both guys are ok
-
OME rears too i would do and go from there.
double shocks for a challenge truck, personally i wouldn't bother.
-
OME went on the rear of mine when the Terrafrima couldnt keep up.

before any points out the locker hoses being loose, these pics were taken during the build process!
-
i have fitted braided hoses from the fiddle brakes to the the rear calipers. both pipes have a split at the chassis to axle change point and then has its own sep pipe to the caliper so if ones is damaged it only a case of changing the axle end part.
no issues (touching wood) to date with them like this for last 18mths.
Hoses from Llama4x4. very good, very reasonable and quick service.
90deg banjo ends on the calipers.

not long to go now!

sorted, you have to wire is through the DSI as a 2 wire system. thank you Les Brock

just got around to this and am a little stuck:
i have 2 terratrips (202Plus V3s) i wish to fit to a def electronic speedo (it physically has 3 wires into the speedo transducer)
I also have a DSI which i have wired as per the basic top picture and the 3 wire manufactures picture further down (2nd from end).
1. am i right in assuming that Pin 2 is probe 1 (-)
with the 202 set to probe 1 i do not get any readings on the 202 with wheel rotation (speedo works though)
2. Do i need to wire a (+) to Pin 1 on the Terratrip?
3. Am i right in assuming the Def works as a 3 wire installation or do i need to use the bottom DIS diagram and link those top two pins on the DIS?
4. other than the following Pins on the 202 connected do i need any more?
Pin 11 Earth
Pin 7 - perm live
Pin 2 - to the DIS box. -
Dont you need a splitter ?
i have a DIS (?) box, i believe that will do it?
-
certainly will be. cant wait for it currently.
-
DPF is on 2.2 only.
-
anyone on here going this year?
-
thank you
-
i am going for the speedo option and will take a feed of the speedo wire. anyone know which of the 3 wires it is? i guess the others are only earth and 12v ign anyway?
-
i think its more of result of the original batch taking a while to shift and the fact its a mammoth undertaking on top of everything else they do.
What diesel lump for engine conversion?

Right then, if you were building a truck for off road use - DRDs, maybe the odd comp and wanted a non ecu controlled diesel engine for a defender based project that would
1. give you good low down torque and pull like a train (ie better than remappped td5s @ 210bhp ish)
2. fit to an LT230 ideally through a ZF auto
3. be reliable and run underwater if required with minimal adaption - eg like a tdi/tgv
4.
assuming you had adequate cooling, fitting etc, and axles could take the grunt and you werent concerned about fuel economy
what would you fit? and why?
