yep have tried the POR-15 with thier Chassis black paint on top and that doesnt seem to last either, its managed about 2yrs on mine and rust is coming through now. i was thinking of undercoating with POR15 then hammerite the top.(after testing the two dont react with each other)

apart from Galvanising it
Any ideas what is the best paint to use on the rear cross member to stop it rusting and lasts more than 12mths before it has to be recoated?

i have just fitted a 40s delay relay to the rear wiper, what a difference for about 10mins work, it may mean that i even use it now not worrying about leaving it on constantly whislt it burns the motor out once the screen gets too dry between constant wipes.
all i need now is some rain to test it out........ oh yeah and to be inthe vehicle going somewhere!
whilst i was at it i also swapped the cigarette lighter and the RWW button around so even i can reach it from the driver seat, why is it some def have them different ways around,?

despite its age theres probably a sticker underneath the fill plug stating 1.4 or 1.6 etc as well. it will be a 1.4 more than likely.

Anyone fancy some greenlaning in around Somerset? primarliy Exmoor i was thinking over the month of Aug from the 17th onwards. have suddenly found myself with some unexpected holiday and not alot planneda great deal.
i was thinking either day trip or couple of days with camping if needed weekdays.
failing that how about a trip to wales for Sarn Helen etc etc.

does anyone know where you can get visocus fans that will fit tdi and td5 but from different manufactures.
i had heard that the tdi fan is similar to ford transit fans and some BMWs, is this correct
as for the td5 fan any ideas
i am trying to source both types at the moment and dont want to pay the £160 for a td5 one complete and around £50 for a tdi one just the visocue unit.
i was also thinking new rather than the local scrappy.

any one on here going? i could be tempted.

i have some of this set up on mine
my setup is a mix from scrap iron, richard harvey and Paddocks.
i have -2" paddock h/d front shock mounts with scorpion cones and hd spring retention bar on the front
then richard harvey -2" top shock mounts, paddock dislocating cones, and h/d spring retention bars on the rear
Llama 4x4 stainless +2" brake pipes
plus have just purchased paddocks extended bump stops - i reckon these are worth the investment (£6 ea or similar) to stop the shock bottoming out - i am running ES9000 +2" shocks
i think the scorpion cones are better quality than the paddock ones ditto their top rear shock mounts are well made, very similar to the richard harvey ones that were advertised in the LRO mag a while back. paddock top shock mounts and rear cones do the job but i reckon coul dbe better.
i am running std trailing arms and std yokes.
any suggestions on who to get bent trailing arms from, and is the issue of using castor corrected front radius arms and the wobble problem now resolved?
