  1. gearbox out yes, recon box not necesarily no. what bogmonster has described is basically just a 3 peice blutch kit change tbh, not the end of the world at all.
  2. Lazy water pump. Partially blocked rad. Big air lock in coolant. etc etc
  3. cheers guys. much appreciated. so im looking at taking the centre console out, and drilling out the pop rivets that hold the cover plate on before i can do anything ya?
  4. looks like the pump relay was stuck. had the same problem on a v8 of mine, except it would stick off, not on. here's hoping eh.
  5. hi all 200 tdi manual j reg. the gearbox is perfect, no notches, good in every gear. although the gear stick sits just out of alignment to where it normally should be. all the actual gears are in exactly the right place. its the gearstick that is sitting just too far over to the left. instead of it resting between 3rd and 4th where it should - it rests between 1st and 2nd. so if im in nutral, push gearstick straight up - its straight into first. havnt pulled the centre console off yet to have a look - anyone advise? many thanks.
  6. if all else fails, it will take a long time, but you could just slowly put the fuses back in (1 every 8 hours) and keep a record of which one it is - and see if she goes flat??? a bit primitive i know, but i am primitive when it comes to auto electrics lol
  7. I've literally just bought all air/fuel/oil filters for my 200 tdi - all britpart........ should i be using these?
  8. any aftermarket alarm on there that is not being used? anything connected directly from the battery? spot lights etc etc?
  9. Hi, This is my first post, just like to say hi to everyone. Bought my first discovery 2 weeks ago, 200 tdi on a J plate - very pleased with it. Well i am actually lying about it being the first - i owned a v8 for 2 weeks previous to this tdi and got rid of it when i realised i might aswell be throwing twenty's out the window whilst driving along!!! Anyway, 200 tdi, great car - bit of a bargain off ebay - very noisey on de-celeration. I was expecting gearbox at worst, but turns out to be transfer box which is a bonus. OK, so my question is - I have a V8 1995 transfer box - is this exactly the same LT238T as the 200tdi? is there any difference in the gearing? Is it going to make it a bit of an awful ride because its a petrol transfer box at all? Or are the insides of the transfer box literall all the same?? Many thanks guys.
