  1. Well said Ivan. I'm still composing my response. Like you say, nothing will change, the damage is done. I'll feel better for responding though.
  2. If you're in Wiltshire, pick up a copy of today's Western Daily Press for run-of-the-mill short comment (but big enough to be a front page feature) on how 4x4s are ruining the countryside and how we shouldn't be allowed to claim vehicular rights. It's the usual nonsense with little real information to bring balance to the argument. Still, at least GLASS had a chance to comment on it. Not that it'll make a change to us being portrayed as the big bad meanies ripping up the byways. Here's the link for the online article: http://www.westpress.co.uk/displayNode.jsp...tentPK=13299922
  3. I knew of that one (but cheers for posting the link anyway). What I'm after is a parts catalogue download. I got the microcat thingy off ebay and I'm not that impressed with it (possibly because I'm not that good at using it). If you know of a link to the traditional type parts cat. I'd mich appreciate it.
  4. A Darwin award for that moron.
  5. No problem Les. The offer stands if you change your mind or find another use for it. I'd just rather it didn't finish up in a skip if there's life left in it. Mine's the green defender 90. You did the belt about a month ago. I thought I had a problem with it losing coolant but it's been fine.
  6. Hi Les I recently aquired a 2.25 Ltr series petrol engine which I'm doing a 'slow' rebuild on i.e. I've taken it apart to see how it works and will be slowly putting it back together. You're welcome to it if you want it as a replacement for your diesel lump. Apparently it was a 'runner' before I got it, but I know little of its history. I've only just taken the head off and it looks alright. There's a fair amount of carbon build up and the valves look asthough they need replacing. 3 of the piston tops look fine, but one has a small chunk out of it so will need replacing. You're welcome to come and have a look if you want. I'm in Swindon also (you recently did the timing belt on my 200tdi!). Cheers, Ant.
