  1. Hi The temprature of your oil and water will be affected by the ambient temprature out side. So say it was 23 C out side temp and your gauge read 110 C for your oil then you would have a rise over ambient of 87 C. This is the temp value you should take note of. As for your water temp i would say that is about right. Your oil temp does seam high tho. Alltho oil does not boil it starts to break down and also becomes thinner the hotter it gets this may cause damage to your engine. Have you changed any of the fan insataltion on your engine. As some fans are used not only to cool the radiator but to pull or push hot / cold airover the engine to cool the engine oil. You can get hold of data sheets for different grades of oil witch tell you what tempratures the will operate at ie max and min temps. Andy
  2. Thanks for that. Just one more question how can you tell if a fan is twin speed. Thanks Andy
  3. Hi Bought an X-Eng fan switch of Simon (Thanks Simon). I was wondering what would be the best fan to get from the scrap yard to put on. I am going to be putting a 200tdi out of a disco in to a TD 90. Do i need two fans a low temp and a high temp one, or could i just use one. If i used one fan i would also like to have an over heat warning lamp and a fans running lamp so i can see when the fan is working. Also could anyone recommend any good warning lamps to use. Thanks Andy
  4. Hi My dad has this problem with his 110 high capacity. He has to take it to a special place to get it MOT. He says it is cheaper than some car places. I know ther are two types of place were you can get it tested. One they will not let you drive it home if it fails the other they will. Will have to find out of my dad which is which. As for the tax he has not had to pay any more than he did before. As mentioned before the reason he was told it had to go to a specail mot station was that the rolling road would not be strong enough at a normal station. Andy
