  1. At the weekend, got into a few situations that left me at an angle. Causing the the gauge to drop into the red and the engine had a spot of trouble running. Cleared itself once on flat land though? My assumption would be starvation, poss air in the fuel system. Any input in the what i do to sort out the problem......? Cheers
  2. Well i guess it wouldnt of crossed their mind, how many Enviromental issue's they would of infringed by creating "X" amount of minutes of footage (Bow...Loxx)? For one, i bet the film crew drove to the location with a dozen trucks.... The list could be endless.......... "Dont throw stones in a glass house" Think thats the metaphor for such nonsense...........
  3. Cheers Mate.... Bloody painted the thing aswell..... Oh well back to the shop on Monday....
  4. Purchased a "Bearmach HD Track bar" for the Defender the otherday and fitted it this affo. But the bar (to me) seems too short? Its measures 42" with the rest of the distance (in the region of 48" 1/4) needing to be taken up by the Ball joints thread. This leaves very little thread in the ends of the bar?? Has anyone else used the "Bearmach" HD track bar? If so any chance of a couple of measurements to see what the bar measures? Any input, welcomed Cheers
  5. Dyneema for me! Choice based on cost only, got the 12mm/150ft for about 40 notes cheaper than plasma.
  6. RE: Track bar and Drag link. If you got a couple of hundred quid spare to get the tap sets (RH and LH) and a lathe to boot ? They are a piece of p!$$ to make. In pro i financing the Taps
  7. £42.50 Ex VAT and Del for the RH.....Waiting for a price on a LH! And..................£140 ex vat etc for LH one  Well once i have them, a few sets of HD track bars will have to go on Ebay to make back the cost....
  8. Cheer Tonk, now all i have to do is, source a couple of sets.
  9. Morning, Got to make up new Track bar and drag link. But cant id the LH and RH thread used on the Ball joints ends? The Overall Dia is 0.6875" (11/16) 16TPI My trusty Zues book let me down....I reckon it could be 11/16 UNF? One of the Forum members should be able to enlighten me? Any good places to shop online for taps aswell? Cheers
  10. They handle in the wet.......Good to average. I have done just over 1500 miles on them and they have only worn approx 1mm. In that 1500miles they have seen some nasty rocks that gave them a bit of a pounding. They seem to be holding up. Im happy with them, would like to get them in 33's though Generally run pressures at 32 PSI for on and off-road. Dont air down for Off-road as i find this only ends up with me throwing a tyre. May try a lower at some point. They are noisey...but i like the sound of slowing down, just like something out of Star Wars...... Hope this helps
  11. Enough said, will try it with and without Cheers
  12. Looking at the HD Drag link and Track rod. I have been told that you dont need the steering damper if you use HD bars? Opinions anyone Cheers
  13. But would you trade your Hob nobs for it....
  14. Laptops dont like water!! Put an expensive Laptop in ya truck and it could end up an expensive choice? Maybe a look on Eblag and find a cheap option.....Also then if you do leave it in your truck, if some git steals it, you know that it aint gonna be worth much. Panasonic Toughbooks on Eblag are a good choice. Something like 600MHz processer, 128mb Ram and 20 GB HD with a couple of USB's would set ya back say...£250 Most GPS/Navigation sotware has a low use rate on system resources, so run prettty well on lower end Laptops Just my two pennies worth on the subject..........
  15. Couple of Q's Stronger Steering Box? Whats the options Options on the sump? And Gearbox options avail? Cheers
  16. Looking at getting a 110 as a daily runner. 300TDI models are running a little high for my budget, soooo im looking at the 200TDi models. Just looking for any good/bad points on either choice, when in a 110. Cheers
  17. Anyone know any good Jap4x4 breakers? Had a look online and in the Yella pages but hav'nt come up trumps yet?? One thing i have noticed, the cost for spares for Nissan and Toyo are pretty costly here in UK
  18. Couple of points of clarity: Nissan GQ, GR these are Patrols in the UK? Toyota 80 100 Series are Landcruisers ie VX, Amazon? Looking on Eblag, i should be able to pick up both for the price of an LR Axle upgrade....Whole truck that is! How would i know what ratios they would be running in the Diffs? Have found out that the Toyo 100" series are 4:11
  19. Those 101 CV's are of interest! Now i like the look of them
  20. Here's the truck im gonna base my next project on! Any ideas to what i should be looking at to put this together
  21. Which axle are you running at the rear in the images?
  22. Welcome to LR4x4 Maggot4x4 You have been replying to a thread on OuterLimits4x4 in the Rover section B) Outer limits username "Mudman&Crawler"
  23. Cannot write from experiance. But from what the OZ forums mention. They seem to run 35's locked without trouble? Well its gonna come down to £££'s at the end of the day. Fitting and doing some basic fab work is within my capabilites. Next inline will be a thread "What would be a good upgrade from stock transfer and gearbox" As i know once the axles are sorted, im only gonna stress the next inline componants (previously written) Reckon its time to do some homework and get on with it...... Dynatrac.....tricked up Dana axles i believe?
  24. Depending on the cost of this issue? Standard or Modified class, challenge events. With the cost of Uprating the axles with ARB's etc, i may just stick with what i have for awhile and stick with Standard class? Like the idea of getting axles that are up for the job of introducing ARB's in the future without uprating everything else. Thats where is has got expensive! Jap Axles seem to have a tougher internals from the factory? Salisbury rear, but what is there upfront standard for LR thats uprated from stock, but not ££££'s What do 130'" trucks run? Cheers
  25. O.K different aproach to my question. What is the best way to go about Uprating? With a budget of 3K for front and rear? Salisbury Axles: D60 internals £££'s A mate runs a TJ and Jeep stuff over here is like tough to source and costly. Rear Sals Disc braked? I guess i would be looking at a pretty new axle? Excuse my ignorance, can you get Arbs and 4:11 R&P for em? Head spinning and as enlightened as a mushroom in the dark
