Hi Ross, yes please, sorry I didn't see your reply!
PM me your address and mobile and I will send a courier for them, I only need a borrow.
Cheers.
-
Thanks for all the kind offers but I have it sorted now.
Cheers.

lets see if it stands the diff+grumpy mood slamming test!! :hysterical:
But Nigel is never grumpy!

Whereabouts in Manchester? - it's a fairly big place, you know!
Nick.
So they tell me!
Don't know yet, i'm hoping the guy will work out how to use a phone soon!
-
I'm trying to do a deal with someone in Manchester but I can't sensibly go there in person.
What I need is someone whom I can send money (direct transfer to someone I know)and will then collect and pay a prearranged price for me. I really don't like the idea of a direct transfer to someome I haven't met!
Do I know anyone willing to help?
I would arrange a courier to collect from you.

In that case I recommend the work top.
-
Cheapest - someone elses.
-
There's a 2m long bit of kitchen work top here.
If you only want to use this bench as packing/dispatch why do you think it is going to wear at all?
-
Floor paint is a good choice. Floor paint is only celulose paint in a can with floor paint written on it.
-
oh and the fact that none of the bolts are fine thread so rust ridiculously quickly!
I'm not sure that is necessarily the cause.
-
That sounds a bit of a 'hard of thinking' way of going about it!
Unless for reasons of vanity you HAVE to have a "new" registration number.
-
It's a funny thing, I used to have a S3 SW which I put a lot of heart and soul into and loved dearly, eventually the rust caught up with it and a succession of classic RRs followed. I LOVED my RRs, comfy, laid back and fun to own, if juicy.
This year I drove a certain blue 110 to Billing. By the time I got to the end of our road I realised that:-
- The steering is vague.
- The clutch is REALLY heavy.
- The drivers door is HARD! on my elbow.
- The seat is too close to everything.
- The hand brake lever wears a hole in my leg.
- The mirrors vibrate.
- Who the hell thought the heater controls were a good idea?!
I could go on.......
However, by the time I got to Billing I had realised that I NEED another proper Land Rover.
How do they do that?
I should probably point out that on the plus side, traveling loaded (with over half a ton of stock and 3 people with a weekends kit), body roll was much less than I recall. Must be the anti-roll bar.

Are you saying that because it's built by Gigglepin, it's the same as if LR had built it like that in the factory or that Gigglepin have an exemption from VOSA's regulations & IVA?
It "could" have been built and IVA tested with a declaration as a "new" vehicle, which would allow it to be registered with todays age related plate. It is my belief that you can use a second hand engine as long as you still have, I think, 8 points from other new components. I'm not sure if that means you have to pay new car tax too.
This is however a deviation from your original question.

I remember x-eng simon having a small fire in his 90
Just a small one! I can't find a link to the video at the moment.
-
I suppose you had considered thermal cutout?
-
Thanks Ruu, I won't be there on the weekend, i'm not sure that RR ones are what I need either.
Thanks for the offer though.
-
No great rush.

Thanks for the swift and concise replies chaps, my next question then is, does anyone have any 23/10 spline shafts laying about that I might procure?
-
Can someone remind me which front shafts are prefered as the strongest/most convenient.
It's been a long time since I have had anything to do with LR axles and i'm a bit out of touch. I think the percieved wisdom was to use AEU2522 CVs but what vehicle/age shafts?
All help gratefully accepted!

At last, some sort of action in the right direction. Neil has done some sterling work on forming the shape of Challenge competitions and a national league culminating in a large event with proper media coverage and show allong side would be fabulous.
The idea gets my vote.

Innitially I thought you were suggesting running your winch through the isolator switch but i've re-read it and see that's not it. I was going to point out that the 300amp bit is likely to be the momentary limit rather than the constant limit and therefore not sufficient for winching. However, for what you are thinking of I think your plan is sound.
In terms of batteries, I agree with a couple of the other posts that the Numax battery is excellent value for money. I have a pair of Numax and have abused them mercilessly in competitions for more than two years with great results. I think that forum members get a discount too!

Thats a very tidy Range Rover. Nice article.
Welcome.
-
I'm looking forward to this one.

Well done Mark and Adrian, shows I didn't work Mark too hard!

Didn't they tell you not to mix water and electricity at school? [at this point I was going to insert a collection of smilies but they seem to have disappeared]
