  1. tracking was done a month ago after i replaced the steering rods and joints. Tyre pressures are 35 all round, as they have been for ages
  2. Cant really adjust it up any more- even when it goes tight it is bad! Havent checked swivel preloads- how do i do that??
  3. Right- i'm losing the plot with this. I THINK i have pinpointed the problem to the steering box. The bottom of the shaft out of the box has a bit of play. I have tried as much as i can to centre the arm off the box, which hasn't helped at all. All ball joints are new and panhard rod bushes are in good fettle! Is there anything else it could be before i take out the box and try and find a good 2nd hand one? (has anyone got a 4 bolt one). Steering feels really uneasy on a corner, and it is wandering- not violently, but enough to notice!!! GW ______
  4. I have paid on the 'door' as it were twice before so i dont see any difference this year Just seen the weather- MIGHT be a bit grey, but supposedly dryish
  5. Next sunday is the annual London to Brighton run starting at Crystal Palace, and ending up in (strangely enough) Brighton. Is anyone from here going? There are a few of us booked in already to go. You can pay on the door - 25 quid for the day. Hope this year isn't going to be as wet as last though!!!!!
  6. can be a sod to get off- we had to use a high speed spinning spanner (aka angle grinder) on my old one to shift it.
  7. I have put in an autogauges one- came with sender unit
  8. could worn bushes like these cause a weird wandering feeling when on rough ground? Mine feels ok on the road, but unsettled on rough ground at low speeds
  9. i know- just seeing if there was a definitive list without going out in the rain
  10. mine has 4- two yellow, two green. left most one is headlights, what are rest. Headlight one is getting warm all the time- is this normal? One green one is the same temp too. Wiring is standard!
  11. Got it last night. First impressions good- really solid old wheelchock of a thing. However..... the software to connect it to the pc is arse. havent managed to get it to work yet. Maybe a windows 7 thing, but not too bothered if it doesn't work tbh. signal is great and goes really loud if you need it to. Is very basic which i like, and the GPS is superb. Recommended!!!!!
  12. I have ordered one from Tesco contract site. Ordered it on sunday, and STILL waiting to hear whether it is arriving this week. Getting the arse would be an understatement. Was free on contract. I have been on 3 so anything is a bonus signalwise!!
  13. blowtorch always helps i find!!
  14. Mine got stuck this evening- took the top off and no sign of any problems. Is this common? It has never done it before. Brakes felt really bad almost like the servo had failed. The pedal was solid and was really hard to get the brakes to bite. Paddocks want 105 plus VAT for one. Assuming it is a direct drive unit from the cam shaft, is it the vanes that need replacement or looking at once in a while? I moved the vanes with a screwdriver to check for cack in between them and all was ok. Put it back together and all is fine now. Anyone had this experience with 200's??
  15. Try these- Defendoor chap makes them. He is going to Newark i think! Really sturdy, will take a 6.5 inch speaker!
  16. you can take the rear half-shafts out and grease up the bearings. Might be just a little dry!
  17. have backed it off a touch- much better now after a 10 mile hard drive. Much more confident that it is ok now!!
  18. How hot should the wheel bearing get- i have adjusted mine as there was some play in the front ones, and after a drive, it is hot to touch. I didn't check how hot it was before i adjusted them. They are now well greased- should i worry? It isn't too hot to keep your finger on it, but hot nonetheless!! I did them up as it says until it starts to bind, then undid it a bit.
  19. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  20. Before we take my 200TDi 110 to the south of France and subsequently into the Austrian mountains, I was a little sceptical about the condition of the radiator. Erring on the side of caution, I got a good second hand discovery rad and intercooler from a chap not too far from me. As I swapped them over, i realised just how shockingly bad the old unit is! The front of it had the top five rows of water channels without any fins attached. I though that was bad enough to replace it- Take a look at the back of the rad- It is quite amazing to think that it never overheated, never leaked or gave any problems at all! I just didn't want to risk the thing blowing halfway up a mountain range!! The new rad had a pinhole leak so in with the magic K-Seal!! Superb stuff!!!! I managed to get a better intercooler too which has made a massive difference to the power of the engine! I have even re-set my fuel pump as it doesn't need the tweak to make it go now. I have an 82'c thermostat in. It sits nicely at 84' at 70mph. Happy with that!! Before, it was reaching 90 before I bottled it. Anyway- Some photos of the offending radiator
  21. Can someone tell me how to grease up my bearings- do you have to disassemble the hubs to do it? I wasn to make sure they are ok before going to france. Chris
  22. I have told my insurance that it has 5 seats. I have that on my cert
  23. i have removed the ones out of the rear too- just 5 now.
  24. I have searched the threads for this, but no luck so far. Some people have mentioned that if your 110 has 12 seats, it is mentioned on the V5. I have just received my V5 and there is no mention of seating anywhere on it. Can anyone tell me where this should be written- i don't want it to show that it has 12 seats as my licence doesn't cover it if it shows. Is it only CSW's that have this? mine is only a SW
  25. I find flailing my arms about like the team america secret signal works quite well, before remembering that i have a two way on my pocket.
