Hi all the turbo on my disco engine i bought a few weeks ago has damaged finns looks like something has been wearing on the finns and there is alot of play in the spindle. was thinking of going the defender manifold way but i am told that using a defender manifold and turbo will reduce the power of the engine. why does it reduce the power. and also is it posible to fit a disco turbo to a defender manifold would that keep the power up. it is just that paddocks are selling both disco and defender turbos for the same price £345 + vat just wounded if it was worth doing. cheers treebasher.

Hi all on a s11a swb can i fit the battery under the n/s/f wing and over the footwell as i plan to fit an under seat tank under the L/H seat and don't really want to fit the battery in the back of the landy the battery is a ( yellow ) optima battery so not very big in size has anyone done this before. cheers graham. s11a swb bronze green.

as i said before the air filter will be conected to a snorkel which will be drawing in cleaner air. why does the k+n air filter let in more dirt in the engine i thought the idear of spraying that sticky stuff all over the air filter is so the carp sticks to it. graham.

Hi all i bought a defender 90/110 air filter box over the weekend the p/n on the box is ESR 0370 and the p/n on the air filter is FRAM CAK 253. can i fit a k+n air filter to the air box cheers graham. s11a swb bronze green.

its ok i have managed to mod the disco alternator bracket. it turns out that the alternator i bought for the series is the same type as the disco alternator. so if the alternator that came with the engine works ok i now have 2 and have one as a spare. graham. s11a swb bronze green.

Hi all does anyone now if there is a pulley that fits a series alternator that will take a thicker fan belt as i want to fit my pretty new series alternator to my disco 200 tdi engine that will be fitted to the series alternator bracket using metric bolts and spaces. i have got it all fitted and lined up with the std pulley on but the rest of the other pulleys are made to take a thicker belt the alternator in question is a 70 amp. cheers graham. s11a swb bronze green.

cheers gazzer. sorry i didn't realise that they are sealed units this is the first turbo engine i have ever owned and worked on so i am a bit of a novis when it comes to turbos its just that when i go off roading and there is lots of water it always seams to be the discos that suffer from sucking in water. cheers graham. s11a swb bronze green.

Hi all. i will soon to be fitting my disco 200 tdi engine into my s11a the engine will be fitted to a s11a g/box. at the mo my s11a petrol has a s11a diesel pressure plate and diesel s11a / 111 clutch plate can i use the same set up on my disco engine. cheers graham. s11a swb bronze green.

what g/box are you using i am going to fit a 200 tdi into mine soon and i have 2 g/boxes to choose from one is a s11a sufix f and the other is a a1 g/box fitted with an high ratio tranny box the s1 g/box is a sufix a. graham. s11a swb bronze green.

Hi all when my work mate told me about it he told me it had done 150.000 mls but when i spoke to his mate who was selling the engine he told me it had done 130.000 mls so was really pleased. graham. s11a swb bronze green.
