"Thanks for your feedback, get a life sad sack"
haha 55mins left lads grab yourself a bargin

halfrauds pro isnt bad. i have broken a few of the smaller spanners and rachet spanners but asides from that all is well. going to be upgrading to blue-point or snapon very soon though
have a look for the blue point catalog, there are some crazy pro mo deals. all made by snap-on but half the cost

im in the same boat mate, i wanted a 90 this year but cannot get insured on it. i drive a 306 at the moment which i hate but insurance is £600 iver the £1600 ive been quoted. its rediculous though i got a quote on my bobtail from adrian flux(or might have been sureturm) and that was £2500 with winches, big mud tyres, stuped suspension ect. how do they work it out! i am not surprised that so many teenagers dont declare modifications made.

when that rolls something will happen that i like to call the mous trap effect!
i would be another wishing to see it actually tested, and 800 quid is an absolute joke! you could order hoops and stays from propper tube companys that actually fit the car properley for less!
its not the worst one ive seen though, there is a 4x4brakers down the road from where i live withh a fortrack init the tubes look like drain pipes and there cut and welded at 45degrees no tube bender needed

had a measure, the jungle trekkers are actually the 34" ones and they are on a 16" rim.
to get the tyres to fit the bumper had to be chopped down, the rock sliders had to be trimmed, the plastic inner arches went, the arches are for a disco 1 but they sit about an inch higher than they should. the big problem was with the rear doors lots of measuring and carefull trimming.
we looked in to body lifts but decided they wernt really worth the time you do gain a little better arch clearance but no ground clearance. booooooooo!
ride with the JT2's is surprisingley smooth! they howl and it sounds like your being dive bombed by a spitfire
but they have dyna beads in there and some lead on the side, all is well so far. it still has the ACE on there too so cornering isnt too bad either!
anyone wants more info PM me

how it started, standard airbags, standard height HD front springs, 255/55 R18 general grabber AT2s
2" lift with air 265/75 R16 BFG m/t
photos of ours with 265/75 R16 BFG m/t 2" coil lift and no arch chop
as it is now, 33" jungle trekkers big arch chop 2" lift just about fits.
-
you can get 2" spacers to go under the air bags with a bracket to ajust the ride hight sensor. our D2 has 2" coils and 33" jungle trekkers.....with a massive arch chop they just fit. i would go down the same route that we did and ditch the air and fit coils, if a bag goes bang when your out the bigger tyres will soon fill up your arch, and they do go. coil is £60 (ish) you will never have to worry about new air springs again.

i wa going to look into a set of these but now i have seen a bigger photo i dont think ill bother! but then again....would rather run those than QT ones!

oh my god what a messy job!
i cleaned it out with soapy water and a soft nylon bottle brush which worked ok, ive also been told diesel will work and brake cleaner
-
the long rainger kit is nice but too much money for what your getting IMO
and you do save alot of weight, what with all the glass and the steel roof, the pillars and the interior. i moved the rear door pillar forward whick looks ok but was alot of faffing around and its still not quite right.....but thats probibly becasue im rubbish with filler
if you ude the rear lights again you get a nice look too

winche are good have you looked at internal cages atall?
-
I have bought some Tom Raiders Side Steps.. If I has seen these, I would have offered som good quid on it. Solid like the dogs... will it pass a MOT Test? ROCK SOLID---
damn! i knew i should have started to sell them!
-
you cheakey bugger!
pray tell how is my way of mounting them not as strong
they do look good though mr. A i think you might find it difficult to mount a cage without the out rigger on there though.....unless you are doing something else

i had 4 x-springs on my disco and they worked brilliantly! also had the silly long rough country damper, that combination with some severe axle twisters actually bent my trailing arms! (std lr units)
but if you want budget suspension get lr springs. i belive RRC "red and white stripe" springs are a good place to start as they will give you a bit of a lift and are squigy..... and probibly about £8 each. dislocation cones can be made easeley enough. and some of the rough country or procomp dampers.
