  1. In addition to this dont forget that new pads and discks will need bedding in before being any good to anyone. Oh and if you want a replacement used pressure reducing valve then i can do you one for £15 posted to you in France. All i need to know is what year your car is and how many inlets and outlets there are on it.
  2. Thats the body mounts but dont forget the middle wow seatbelt anchorages, these have a Torx bolt right through the boot floor into some threaded bosses welded to the chassis. these are a pain in the ass to undo unless you have access to a windy gun or an impact driver, just make sure you clear the head of the torx bole out before using an impact or windy gun because if its not propperly located it will be around hole in it rather then a star shaped one! In addition to this there are 2 securing points on the INSIDE of the chassis rails just level with the rear of the front seats, these again can be a pain to undo without manly tools, the top of the attachement is held in with a pin and a cotter pin through a bush, your a better man than me if you can get the pins out! I have taken the body off at least 20 discos and just chop through the outriggers that make up the 10 body MOUNTING plates, the rear seatbelt points i just cut the rear floor around them and leave them attached to the chassis when the body is removed and the ones inside the chassis i just cut the nuts off them with the small grinder........ You may NOT want to do it my way lol
  3. I have a 2004 With 40K on the clock from a crashed ES premium that im selling for £1250 on ebay at the moment. If you can figure out if it will fit or not let me know and maybe we can do something. Thanks Colin
  4. What is the BCU ECU? Many thanks - also a picture would be great as i have loads of 'boxes' out of the car than i cant 100% identify! Many thanks
  5. Great thanks, that means i can get them listed on ebay now then! Thanks a lot.
  6. I am have broken my 1st TD5, it was a 2004 ES premium with all the toys. I have heard a rumour that the ECU is coded to the car, it will not work as a straight swap in another car.......... Anycone confirm if this is correct? Cheers
  7. I have a set of 4 shocks from a 2004 with ACE, they are genuine LR ones and if original have covered only 40K miles I can do you them for £12 each if your interested. Thanks Colin
  8. 300 have an ARB fron and rear 200 have one front only (normally) although i have seen some 200 sith both - i think it was who ever was working on the production line at the time! The 300 ARB is thicker too.
  9. I can supply a headlining if you want to come and get it out yourself im in Shropshire. £35?
  10. Jack ONE wheel up and try and turn it with diff lock NOT engaged, it should turn. Then engage diff lock and it should NOT turn. There is a switch on the box that turns the light on, check the wiring on it. Also make sure no one has forced the lever and bent the linkage thus not allowing it to select difflock or not. You NEED that light to work so you dont go off flat out on the motorway in diff lock = BANG!
  11. Agreed, i did one yesterday, lift the chassis only to give a bigger gap between the axle and chassis, easy peasy then.
  12. Can anyone confirm the differences if there are any between the 200 and 300tdi axles except for ABS axles. Are they interchangable or not?
  13. LOL, I should have guessed it was a typo! Thanks for the ID guys.
  14. Yes thats the L shaped bit. you called it a wheel choke??? Thanks
  15. just inside the front nearside wing under the bonet on the 300tdi. Its a cylindrical little thing with what looks like vaccum pipe coming off it and a multiplug too. Its under that L shaped metal bracket thats removable to gain access. If i had my camera it would be easier!
  16. Im strugglung to find the engine number on my 300tdi. Any pointers? Thanks
  17. Hi guys, Can anyone confirm if the rear axle from an L Reg 200 Disco will fit onto a C reg 90? If not a straight swap is there anything else i need to get? Thanks
  18. hi fellas, Can anyone point me in the direction of a list of AMR numbers and descriptions? Thanks
  19. I have just ripped the body off a 200tdi this morning, easy with forlkift and grinder. We just cur thtoug all the wiring plumbing etc and i thought halfway through that it would be quite time consuming to 're body' a chassis because you need to sympathetically disconnect all the plumbing etc.
  20. The relay may be behind the panneling in the rear drivers side corner under where the speakers are........... I could be wrong but its where there are a load of electrical gubbins on the 300TDi's
  21. I will have a look and see if i have an os Headlight if you want, £10 + postage if i have. I can do Paypal or cheque or credit card but seeing as i have not long been registered on here your probably not going to want to give me your credit card details! You do need a demister by law for MOT, that is if you have a screen! thanks Colin
  22. Guys and Gals, I have today struggled my little bits off getting the engine and box out of my scrapper Disco. Its out but it seemed to take an age to do it. - aint it a big thing when you get it out on the floor on its own Is there a butchers way of doing it? I cut the front slam panel out and pulled the lot out the front. Can it be dropped to the floor? it looked to me that the engine and alternator, turbo, etc etc wouldnt fit between the chassis rails if it was to be dropped down - is this correct? Can any of the inner floor be cust away to make quick easy access to things? Or even can the body be lifted off to expose the engine/gearbox assy and make for straight level lifting. Both axles to do tomorrow now Yours Mr. Knackered!
  23. Thanks BogMonster, i have undone the ones you have mentioned, i am awaiting arrival of my haynes from the bay of E at the moment. Hopefully it will clarify things.
  24. I have been lurking for a while and searching the technical archives. At present i am stripping down an M reg 300Tdi and im currently stuck on removing the Dashboard. I have the passengers side 'loose' and have removed bolts from the nearside bracket where the glove box hinge is and from the passengers side of the transmission tunnel. I have removed the transmission tunnel bracket bolts on the drivers side but cant seem to see where else it is attached on the drivers side, there are that many brackets and plates and bolts i dont know what is attached to what! The steering column is out as are the clocks, im sure im not far away but i dont want to wrench it and damage it Anyone got any words of wisdom - apart from 'dont even attempt to remove a 300Tdi dash!' Thanks in advance Colin.
