Like mickeyw I found the area under the load area would only allow a smallish 40L tank however unlike mickeyw I couldn't live with reducing the load area so fitted 2 tanks one under the load floor and the second under the seat box, opposite side to the petrol tank giving me 80L nominal capacity. I haven't found any real reduction in ground clearance and have yet to ground either tank despite using the landy offroad when ever possible. My only regret was not initially wiring the two tank cut offs separately.
Would ike to see this. GF is thinking of LPG on her series 3 bing a SWB CSW we really dont want a tank taking up valuble room inside

James see your from Peterborough are you buying Marks 110? the white C reg one. A CSW will be nice and comfy there much better than the base models with vinal seats etc.
-
That's why I recomend the 5mm ply.
I can't understand why some preparation companies insist on 18mm ply just to cover some bars. Maybe they think the rack isn't strong enough.
mike
What about similar stuff to waffle boards? light and strong sure seen yanks using plastic "chicken coop flooring" which is same stuff i think just a bit thinner

For that kind of money it will always be project.
Doors look rough but bodywork looks straight. You would need to see the chassis, I suspect it may be rough.
It really depends how much you want a 109 and how much time you have.
Personally if my budget was around £500 I would get a (not too rusty) disco, spend a few £'s welding sills and rear floor and go playing.
Why a disco? you cant beat the feeling of driving a nice old series landrover. i recenlty picked up a series 3 88 station wagon that only needed a rear cross member before sailing throught the MOT its not a heap either with a recently replaced bulkhead and fully re trimmed intterior and it cost me just £246!!

changed the rivnuts for normal nuts and bolts and it fits much better
-
Fitted mine today doesnt seam to be as snug to the wing as it should be? thinking of changing the rivnuts for normal nut and bolts to pull the front in tighter to the wing dunno about the bottom i may bend the clips in a little

195k here ex AA 110 still going strong pulls like a train
-
Its a big 110 so the the extreme tubular style is probably best left to the winch challange 90's but on the otherhand i dont want 1 that sticks out 4 miles and affects approch angles
-
got myself a warn 9.5p winch for a bargin price i couldnt refuse. Now i need a bumper for it any recomendations?
-
Here you go James roll bar monted to the cappings and a bar running across for harnesses also means can chop bulkhead out to with out loosing to much strength i plan to chop mine MUD style not going to low just so can get bit more recline on the seats. Roll bar also has a place to put top mount for seatbelts to
-
Carefully take insides out (theres a big compressed spring in there) the smash the casing out with a hammer few good blows should do it it will split and eventually all come out. I spent forever jacking up and hammering chassis down all that did was bend the chassis a bit
-
James i've a roll bar mounted to capping and then another bar runining across the tub at capping height for mounting harnesses to can take a pic tommrrow for you
-
Thankfully my 110 has a full height gog guard, but as its ex plod it has a huge side to side steel locker behind the scond row seats.
Unfortunaltely it did not have a face place, so put two subs and an amp in it, I have mounted the rear speakers at the top of the dog guard, and apart from having to have the fader set with a strong bias towards the front, the sound is as good as I can get (Sony single slot CD/fm radio £60.00 ebay, ols sony speakers from Disco in front knee speakers, two small tweeters on front crash pad (8.50 Ebay), two rear speakers unkown origin mounted up high on dig guard in custom made boxes, a CPC sub woofer £20.00, CPC amp £20.00.
I was considering a sub/amp system that comes in a tube and putting it under the second row seats, but this was much more fun and had all the bits in my garage from previous vehicle installs...
IMHO it was not worth spending loads of loot as its not the quietest of cabs...
If anyone wants, Ill post piccys.
PICS. Yes Please

Out of interest where did you get your ex AA vehicles from?
Mine was private off Ebay, the other one was in the local paper
-
I was talking today to someone selling a 110 csw 1998 ex AA in good condition.
He said he was looking for £6500.
If you are interested I can pass on your details.
Let me know.
John

Landrover play safe with the wading depth. you can go deaper than they say but they wont say that incase you break something
-
just back from a 250km round trip still seems way to hard gonna try the bag of cement trick tmorrow so we'll see then!
Do you carry a load at anytime if you want softer can fit 2 leaf rears and es1000's but you'll lose load lugging ability

nope sold it to my mate who needed 1 so does anyone know the differances witht the gears?
-
At sodbury picked up a large dizzy for a 3.5 V8 from Nige spent couple o hours working on truck today changing the inlet manifold and connnecting everything and when it came to dropping the dizzy in it wont drop down the gears on the end wont engage tried twisting the shaft and even rocking the landy back and forwards (yes it was in gear) to get it to drop but it refuses to, Any clues anybody?
-
Can't remember exactly but I think it was a bit under £300 ex works and ex VAT for export (too many "exes" ) plus the freight. That was with both the drop plate and the recovery point, wish I had ordered an extra drop plate now, so I could have one with a ball and one with a NATO on.
How come when you have the nato on the crossmember? if you need an extra drop plate for nato you could not have of got a standard 1?

That looks so good!!! so the big question is how much?
