Afternoon, Just tried fitting a new set of UJ to the front prop on my 1994 defender 300tdi, and the ones that i have been sold are too small. Is there two sizes? for this vehicle, or have i got a heavy duty/different prop? Many thanks Neil

Just to say that yes it was the output seal that had gone. And no oil was traveling into the handbrake from any whereelse. There was however a felt seal in there as well as the ruber seal as only specified in the handbook! Cheers guys for your help Neil

HEY!!! To be fair i have just replaced both swivels with the Britpart kit (some of us need to be consious of the pennies!!!!!) and found no fault with the quality or supply of parts. For info i used a thick shim on the top and a thin shim on the bottom, and it felt right to do that on both sides. The main danger of over tighening the bearing is really going to cause reduced life, now a new set of bearings at some time in the future isnt so bad, they are not really doing loads of work anyway. With that in mind i deliberalty went a little tighter. Oh errr missuss!!

Hi there, Sorry for the ignorance but i have not seen this advertised before! What size is the show, compared to billing? is it half the size, all the size? Im very intersted in going and are planning a trip with some freinds, im just after a warm fuzzy feeling of what to expect before i agree to spend any time in the car with them! Has any trade stands confirmed yet? Cheers Neil

Thanks gents, Whislt im there it seems silly not to replace the seal as well. Les, you may have a point because it does look like engine oil. im impressed if it has got in there though! Cheers Neil

Thanks for that western, However the area around the seal is dry and dusty. i would of thought that if anything tack along there it would leave a mark? Cheers Neil

Hi there everyone, I have just stripped down the handbrake drum as it has stopped working. I adust it for a bit and it works fine, then stops working a week or so later. After taking the drum off it is clear to see that i have black oil all over the shoes and and the outer drum. i have no oil on the back plate or any of the inner drum. Has anyone had this fault? Could it be grease from the rear prop shaft? Many thanks Neil

Hi there everyone! Got an issue when it rains!!! I seem to have a lot of movement in the wiper arms on my 94 defender. Is it likely that the spline on the arm is worn or would it be the mechanism spline. Just trying to work out if i need to take the dash out before i spend any money! Anyone got any expeirence of this? Many thanks Neil

Hi there, I bought the down pipe of this guy, and like others said it doesnt scream quality (it was hardly worth painting the thing!) However it did the trick. Any performance decrease was unnoticed as i upgraded from a 2.5NA Cheers Neil -

hi there Foggy, Any idea as to the slave cylinder? cheers Neil
-
Hi all, Just trying to order a clutch slave cylinder but need to know the part number. The one i have currently got on my 1994 300tdi defender is square at the back where the pipe screws in, and the thread starts imeadiatly with no shoulder. One i have already been given has this shoulder and doesnt screw in at all. Also while im at it i might as well change the master cylinder. Any ideas of what part numbers they are? Cheers Neil
