  1. they can, although aggressive tyres (not familiar with the Avons) tend to wear that way. eg, my BFG MT's do that, as do the old pattern Cooper STT's, etc. With the old OE bushs, I was getting a toe out like wear pattern on the rear tyres, just from the back axle rear steering around too much. Relatively frequent rotation and balance seems to be the key there.
  2. be a little careful with your rear shocks as most aftermarket dampers are valved to suit Rangie/Disco rear springs and so are woefully inadequate for even the stock Def130 setup. If you have heavier springs again, the beast will wallow, roll and float like nobody's business. I'd be trying standard 130 anti-roll bars front and rear, with Koni 'Heavy Track' low pressure twin tube dampers. The beauty of the Koni's is that they are adjustable (off car), and can be re-valved if need be. My Step Fathers 130 CC with camper rear setup uses 540lb/in after market springs as well as the 140 llb/in inners, and it still wallows like a floundering ship with the heavier of the two available TJM XGS shocks. They are going to try and fit my old rear anti-roll-bar (difficult with their long range 140 litre fuel tank) to see how that helps.
  3. ...................if ya can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bull..........
  4. Col, just point out to all and sundry that Kasper wasn't out ! Billy Bowden got it wrong, as the ball flicked off his hand that wasn't holding the bat Sheesh, you'd swear the Poms had done something significant or something. Two bl##dy runs.........
  5. methinks some skullduggery has been afoot !
  6. I thought you were getting a little Shakespearean on us Des. Should we be looking for ghosts or some-such Des, or are you just going to break into a soliloquy on us ? ?? you've got me there....
  7. Well someone has to pay for the cyber festivities we are undertaking. Oh, and Mr Morgan snuck into AULRO the other day, then disapeared. Must have been after I tipped off the crew over there who he really was after he intro'd himself as 4be.
  8. first big belly laugh for the day, Des, thanks !
  9. G'day Uncle Des I can pull the grille off the deafener and use it. It's a two layer 1" square weldmesh, hinged at the bottom. Air con media slips between to stop the dreaded locusts and grass seeds. It would make a most excellent BBQ (sans the media)
  10. G'day fella's ! whats cracking me up atm is seeing everyone with 'newbie' beside their name !
  11. Rangie Spares/Les Richmond Automotive do a taper shim/kicker that slips between the triangular bracket and chassis plate to 'correct' the angle of the bush. I've also found that Fulcrum Suspensions, the manufacturer of Super Pro bushes here in Oz make a superior designed bush that will totally outlast the OE one. Yes it is urethane, but it is the only spot I will use a poly type bush, and the Super Pro one uses heavier thickness plates (so the don't bow/bend with the load) and use a circumferal groove and chamfers around the OD of the bush to allow it to flex/articulate (more than the OE bush) without stressing the bush material, yet the actual compression characteristics are better than OE, reducing the dreaded rear steer. They've been in my 130 for around 80,000km now. If you really want to make some cranked arms, there are some good threads on the Outerlimits Rover forum, generally using 40mmx20mm DOM tube.
  12. ahh ****, bloody typical, I'm late for the start. Pass a stubbie, fella's, cheers.
