  1. Steve I'm not asking anyone to make my mind up for me I have driven both in the past and have my opinion on how both handle. What I'm asking and I guess I didn't phrase it properly. Which one is going to last longer, I'm hearing Puma cross members are rusting up inside of three years, paint so thin if you sneeze too hard it will come off are these just one off's or the reality of an inferior product. Thanks
  2. Hi Guys The bug for another Defender has bitten and very hard, since I now have a little one a 110 is the name of the game. I'm seeing some very big critiques of the Puma, rust etc. This begs the question would it be better to go with the devil I know and look at late model low mileage TD5's instead. Sorry if this has been done to death, have searched.
  3. Ahh yeah, that would help wouldn't it. Chassis/outriggers/crossmember are in sound condition, i've kept it all waxoly'd, body has a few little dents and scratches but the paint work is fine. Transmission again is good and solid, no wobble or noises. Since owning it I've had it garage serviced at regular intervals.
  4. Hi Guys Sorry if this type of post isn't allowed, I couldn't find anything to say I couldn't. I'm seriously considering selling my 90 but don't have a clue how much it would be worth. I've compiled a list of all its main details. It has been used off road and for towing medium sized trailers no competition use. 5. Never really thought about auto before, What box would I need who from and what sort of ££ are we talking. Aragorn It comes with a single mass flywheel.
  6. Hi Guys Had Mr Pete from B.A.S do his magic on my Defender a couple of weeks ago and at the time he did warn me to take it easy on the gear changes etc. However as gentle as I've tried to be when firmly engaged in 3rd/4th and applying the power with vigour as soon as boost kicks in it slips and I have to back off. So the obvious solution to me is get a better clutch plate, i've seen 3 heavy duty options but apart from rakeway cant really find many reviews or opinions. The other are britpart and brookwell kits. I'm not cash shy and am happy to spend the money on the the rakeway kit as it does seem to be the nuts. But a better deal is still a better if indeed it does what it says on the tin. Power wise its got VNT turbo, boost box, uprated inter cooler and B.A.S tuned. All options opinions welcome. Regards Chris.
  7. Would this be any good if i stretched the budget and saved? http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/karcher-k855-hs-domestic-hot-water-pressure-wa
  8. Whats wrong with 300lt a minute lol, yes I meant an hour. Thanks for the advice, seen that Karcher do a domestic/semi-pro range of steam cleaners around the £700 mark so might save up for one of those bad boys.
  9. Ahh like the sound of that, used steam before but hired the unit.
  10. I looked at them, but the further you go up the money range they seem to comes with lots of extras and very little power increase, but then i'm not sure how much power you actually need in the first place is a 100bar and 300lt/per min ok or is more needed?
  11. Hi Guys Looking for a pressure washer, got a budget of about £300-400 tops. What do people recommend for keeping a defender clean, not looking for fancy gadgets but not looking to strip the waxoyl off either, just something that is going to deal with stubborn chassis mud etc. Thanks
  12. I came back from a trip to Normandy two weeks ago, we 5 vehicles filled up fine on UK chip and pin cards. Must be certain pumps.
  13. I didn't think it was the defenders max weight, more so the max weight allowed by law? On another note do you really want to be lifting up and down that much weight every time you want to fill up and load up.
  14. I just gave my Km2s (255-85-16) a good thrashing in Normandy doing some green laning. Unbalanced on standard boost alloys I got a little front wobble at about 75. In the brown stuff they were wicked, plenty of grip and control all so felt totally at easy on some wet muddy rock. I'm very happy with them.
