  1. i think I see what you mean,m but i'm unsure of how it would press in? Some pictures would be nice ;-)
  2. one more thing, using this picture from the FAQ Guide: The metal ring next to the spring clip which hold the boot on, where does that go? I didn't see an old one fall out? (Second in on the left, bottom of the picture)
  3. sounds a good idea. Hadn't thought of loctite. If removal of the drop arm really is that much of a pig, that myight be my only answer til it one day visits a proper garage!! Thanks
  4. cheers guys. I'm assuming I have to fit the arm in a certain position too - to keep the tracking in line?
  5. ah, so i need either the 3/4 bolt box one, or the 6 bolt box one. What does is mean by the number of bolts. Mine does have power steering. thanks
  6. I ordered the repair kit for the drop arm balljoint. Anyway, i've realised that the lip which holds the metal srping around the rubber boot has completely rusted out Now, i'm assuming I can order this from paddocks and the balljoint will already be installed - correct? It would save me a lot of time and effort if it is! Also is the part above the piece I need? Not sure of the variations. thanks Sam
  7. guys,, does my truck look lifted? I've got a knock after some laning this weekend, and i'd like to replace with this kit from Paddocks What do you think? And what else would I need to order? It woudl be nice to get good articulation, but as i'm new to 4x4 ownership i've no idea how to go about it, but also don't fancy paying a garage through the nose to do it for me when i'm quite handy with a spanner!
  8. cheers! one of my arches is different from the rest. It's like a shiny plastic / rubber, whilst the others are textured. Any idea where I can get the textured one from? It's the drivers side front which looks cheap and needs replacing!
  9. cheers lads. As I say, a few bits to sort out. I need to get the small surface rust patches on the rear sorted out ( a friend of mine does bodywork). It's had a new rear cross member already done with receipts etc so it's all legit. Other than that it's snorkel, a few repairs to ball joints etc, then the standard filter and fluid changes (when the filters arrive!) Does anyone know the proper name of the colour? It was advertised as green, but it's obviously grey. Also can the side graphics be replaced? Many thanks
  10. Fresh out the jet wash after getting caked in horse sh*t last night. Excuse the missing headlight finisher, new one is on order!! Opinions, good or bad, welcome, although it's a long way off from what I want it to be yet! Thanks for looking. Sam
  11. thanks Jim - i'm after the ones that fit to the actul sill.
  12. cheers tim, might be a good idea. Now I just need the part number for the other bit then. I'm guessing it's most likely to be This or This!
  13. I'm just about to order my new snorkel and some more bits from Paddocks. I'd like to get a new windscreen seal (can't find this on their website) and also the seal along the floor inside the door (drivers side). There is one in my passenger side door, but not on the drivers and I cant find the part number, nor find it on their website. I think there may also be some sort of bracket to hold it on, but I may be wrong. Thanks Sam
  14. Sounds interesting, is it a difficult drive for a novice?! Any chance of the map referance? Thanks!
  15. ok, here's some pictures of the two joints i'd like to replace. Could someone tell me which parts I need from paddocks, or the genuine part no's? Many Thanks
  16. thanks for your help! I'm going to have a fun weekend by the looks of things. I'll get some photos of the balljoint which is worn and hopefully someone can tell mthe exact name for it and which one to order. Thanks again
  17. cheers for a quick reply :-D How do I remove the steering wheel? Thanks
  18. I'm looking for some fun lanes in and around the new forest. I live on the border on hants / dorset, so the south of the forest would be an ideal spot. I doubt there is much, but I found a couple of real short ones last night just driving about! Also if anyone local doesn't mind a novice tagging on next time they go laning, pm me ;-) Thanks
  19. Hi Everyone Be easy with me, i'm brand new to LR ownership. I've had it two weeks and love it already, but as with all cars, i've got a few niggle which I'd like to sort out. Any help or advice would be most helpful! 1. My steering has an inch or so of play in it, and also the steering wheel does not sit straight when driving straight. Is there an adjuster to take the play out, and how do I remove and re-fit the (standard) steering wheel? 2. One of the joints on the front steering rod (?) looks worn. It's oily and all perished. Sorry cant get a photo atm. Which would I order and where from for replacment? Do paddocks do this type of thing, i'm not sure of it's proper name. 3. My indicators only cancel sometimes, but i'm hoping if I can get the steering wheel off then I can fix this. 4. How do I adjust the hadbrake? I've heard there are some nuts tol adjust under the seats, is this correct? 5. Lastly, I want to check my fluid levels on the diff, gearbox and power steering. How do I go about this? Maybe I need a haynes manual or the like. Many thanks in advance, and well done to those concerned on producing a top class forum!!
