A couple of us are heading up to the plains on Sunday 20th July.
Would be nice if a few others wanted to join us - we're meeting at The Bat & Ball in Breamore at 10am. Feel free to post a further meeting point on route.
This'll be my first time, but I know there are a few regulars on here!
Anyone else fancy a day out?
Cheers
Sam
Well after 3 hours of hunting, I think the knock on the rear drivers side is actually my rear door!!
If I hold the edge, I can lift it about 1/2" or so - and the knock / rattle sounds remarkably like what i'm hearing.
Now, there are three bolts, each with a spring on the bottom, then the nut. How tight should these be? And how much play should there be on each?
My bottom one is much looser than the rest. I have modular wheels with All Terrain ATs, and the spare on the rear door isn't exactly lightweight.
Thanks in advance
no travel inn's or anything nearby? I'm up for it, wither date. Shame it's a long way from me, my back will have had it after driving all up there - but nevermind
Mainly for comfort for the dog who gets slung all over the place...
I was wondering what you guys have done in the back of your 90 vans? Have you boarded them out then covered in some sort of carpet material? I've also seen these drawers in the floor, can you buy a kit of ready made bits to achieve this or is it a jogsaw and MDF DIY job!?
Some pictures to give me ideas would be nice....
Thanks
thanks guys, I may go for the pro comps then. I was looking at the britpart Gaz ones.
diesel jim, where can i get the software that has all the info and piccys on like you've got?
Cheers
What do I need to replace jsut my rear shocks?
I've just rang Paddocks to see if the shocks come with the bushes, they said it depends if they are in the box when it gets delivered Not that helpful.
So i'll order the two shocks, and then is it just the upper and lower bush each side?
Thanks
it seems you're right - cant budge it.
For the time being, I've put the balljoint back together just so it has some steering. I suppose I'll have to either get the garage (Brooklyn 4x4) to have a look, or get a new steering box to put the new arm on (which should also get rid of the play in the steering)?
How much would a recon box be?
Thanks for all the help and advice, I suppose at least it is kind of driveable for now!!
thanks, i'm going to put the puller back on tonight, and leave it for a bit - hour or so? See what happens. I've caked it with WD40 this morning to get the carp out, that may help?
thanks Les, think i'll have a go tonight at removing the box. It's connecting all the bits back up and bleeding it after which i'll probably fudge up!
hey ho - all part of the fun i suppose!!
ok, so this really is a b*tch.
I've tried pulling, wacking, blood sweat and tears, but it won't budge.
I've rang a local garage, they have the tools if I can get it to them - it's about 4 miles away, but with no steering, i've no idea how to get it there?
I cant believe something so simple can be so difficult to get off!
ok, i'm going to have a go at this tonight.
I'm going to buy this puller - anyone got one, is it likely to fall apart? it's the only one local which I can find....
Thanks
