Using 88" panels - after months of trawling I bit the bullet. It was easy! The bodyshop even kept the little dings to keep it looking original! Loving my new look :-)

Thanks - the hardboard idea looks good! Could you elaborate / post a pic of the alterations you made to fit the seal? I don't want them to be nicely sprayed up and then go at it with a grinder!

^ did you replace any of the seals too? Or cut down the sean near the second row door? My panels are at the bodyshop being painted, want to ensure i have all the bits before embarking on the swap! Also did you find an interior trip to fit instead of the big piece that surrounds the sliding windows (houses the seatbelt etc)

Mine need some attention soon also, be interested to hear what the garage thinks and quotes for you ;-)

Les, thanks for your time in writing this. I'm pretty much geared up for this on my 300tdi, and plan to: Remove head, send off to be skimmed and pressure tested (do I need to remove any other components for this?) They do this in 4 hours apparently. Existing gasket is 2 hole. Order this: Turner Engineering 300TDI head fitting kit Refit with a 3 hole gasket, although I will check with the engineers what they think would be best considering how much they skim? Adjust valve clearances. Fill and bleed the coolant system. Have I missed anything? Thanks

Morning So my new Defender quite literally came with a set of these in the back; All the tyres are knackered, but the wheels seem in good nick and may come out well with a refurb. I wanted to get a set of Boost's fitted, but i'm almost falling for these. Are they Defender wheels? Would it be worth me selling and getting some boosts? Thanks

Hi everyone I was on here some years ago with my old 90 hardtop - loved that truck, but the arrival of a baby meant she had to go :-( BUT - i'm back, armed with a 1995 110 300tdi CSW! It's great, needs some tinkering (which I love) and it's family friendly - not sure what else her indoors could have asked for? So bear with me as the questions start all over again.....

ok, i really missed driving the girl, so took her straight in for the MOT this morning. I managed to change the rear shock, front discs and pads at the weekend. I asked them to do the rear brake pipe first as i knew it may fail on this. Anyway, £70 later and it's passed :-) £50 for MOT, £20 for the brake pipe. Not bad I thought. Only advisory given was "Nearside front upper steering pivot point has slight play - 2.2.B.1g) - any idea how I can fix this? The mechanic said I can adjust it. Thanks!

if anyone else fancies arranging it, pelase do! I cant do much 'til i've got mine through it's MOT, hopefully next week if that rain holds off and I can get the brakes done.....

thanks, what could "Damp brake backplate on rear brakes" be caused by?

that's why I had mine done - gives me a week to get it sorted now, I knew there would be something that it would fail on!

cheers Dave, will do. Got drop arm sorted at long last, and got most of the play out of the steering so happy about that if nothing else!! Just priced up the parts, everything excluding the brake pipe is £156 from paddocks which is ok. Having looked at the FAQs and in the manuals, the only thing I'm not comfortable with is the brake pipe, which I spose I could just get the MOT garage to change and it shouldn't cost too much. I'd like to save as much as possible!! Will let you know how I get on once the parts arrive. Cheers again.

thanks Luke, i intend to DIY, i'm jsut struggling to find all the parts I need on the paddocks site. Also, I've checked with the garage, they mean the pinion seal on the diff is leaking badly. Thanks Sam

cheers lads, i'm willing to give as much of it a go as possible. I cannot find the radius arm bushes on the paddocks site though? Also can the "rear brake pipe along the axle" be bought from paddocks ready to fit?
