jad
Hi, Can anyone tell me the function of these parts? Can they safely be shortened to move the bolt closer to the spring? Thanks Jad
Snagger
It keeps the leafs aligned and yes, you can shorten it. Shortening could conceivably reduce droop flexibility (when the weight is on the opposite side and you are cross-axling), but since leaf sprung Rovers have check straps and dampers that don't extend much further than the check straps allow (the straps are to prevent damper damage from over extension), in reality you won't see any change in spring flex.
