Keeper96
I’m currently building the tiki g chassis for my 88” but can’t find half the parts or remember where things went 😂 does anyone have pictures of how the front shocks attach at the axle end? Ive looked at various photos and some mount to the axle and some mount to the shackle plates for the u-bolts. What would be correct for a 1980 88”? Gazzar
Take a look at this photo, the SWB plates are the ones with shocks still attached. Not sure if they are back or front, but the principle is the same. The non shock plates are from a LWB rear. Salisbury, I believe.
Keeper96
Cheers gazzar, you wouldn’t know if they’re the same front and back?
Gazzar
I would, they're not. Certainly for the lightweight, and so for the civvy model. Looked it up last night. Get a parts book, plenty on line, very useful.
Gazzar
Right, I think there are three types of plate under the springs on series 3. In the first photo the left is the front (SWB and LWB), the middle is the SWB rear and the right is the LWB Salisbury rear. In the second picture, the front is in the middle, note the additional gusset. The last photo is a front one in situ on a LWB with parabolic springs. G. Gazzar
No problem, the only winkle is that the plates in the photos came from an ex MOD vehicle, and there may be subtle differences to civvy models. Some variants have different part numbers.
