Neilik15 Posted February 18, 2022 Share Posted February 18, 2022 So I got to the bottom of the problem . when driving pressing the accelerator made the temp gauge drop of to cold, I also noticed when operating the hand brake the temp gauge would fluctuate . The engine would randomly cut out and immediately back in again. I would often have bad starting Eg Constant cranking and not firing. The problem turned out to be the ecu was not getting a good earth. to resolve the problem I have fitted a new earth wire directly from the ecu body mounting bolt back to the chassis ( not the body ) . 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Lightning Posted February 25, 2022 Share Posted February 25, 2022 Glad you sorted it in the end. l've had both faults, the earth fault (fixed as above) l also had ECU failure, in this case the temperature gauge dropped to zero, there was no EML and no fuel pump whine.
