The place is trying to be closed down yes, due to his neighbours getting Mildly miffed off with it all! There trying to claim that all the silt and pollution caused by off roaders is damaging the water ways. Rumour has it that that theres supposeed to be a ban for off roaders up there, But not sure how policable it will be. After all its private land and all that! I agree its a plop hole, but with more and more greenlanes being closed, and pay and play sites sometimes being expensive and far away, £15 (£10 if you can blag your a local) for a days messing about up there seems like good value.
