NIgor
Hello I have 1991 range rover classic with 3.9 v8. There is new fuel pump and fuel filter. So fuel pressure is ok but it wont start. I checked there is spark but it just wont start. But when i spray starting fluid to intake it starts and runs until i stop spraying. I'm not very familiar with this engine and engine management, could someone give some advice what to do or check next. i detached fuel line from fuel rail and measured pressure, it is good. Escape
If you have fuel pressure and spark, and it runs on easy start, the likely cause is injection. Have you had the engine running before? Did anything change? If you take out a plug, is it wet? I expect not, indicating you're not getting fuel. Look at the injectors. Is the feed and wiring OK? Also the ECU needs an engine running signal to fire the injectors, this is taken from the coil through a resistor (at least it is on the 3.5, not 100% sure on the 3.9). Bowie69
Yep, as above, white/black from the coil into the AFM loom on a 3.9. How long has it been since it ran on its own fuel?
