Red2.5vmMrlee
Hi, I have a 1990 RRC with the 2.5td vm engine. The problem is that it has an oil leak between the oil filter housing and the engine block. I removed the oil filter today and tried to remove the housing but couldn't. I couldn't see how its fixed to the block and didn't want to force and damage anything. How does it separate and is there a gasket between the housing and block? Thanks for any suggestions. western
This shows the filter head off the engine LRCat RR to 1991 VM engine parts list, could be ITEM 2 secures the head to the engine block. ITEM 4 AEU2227L now changed to RTC6769 is the seal between block & oil filter head.
Red2.5vmMrlee
Hi, thankyou so much for your help, I had an inkling that somehow item 2 held it together, but was unsure. Thanks once again and will order a new o ring as well. Regards Steve.
taurion
As above , if I remember rightly you need a thin -walled socket to fit in the adapter housing. Can have a look at one tomorrow if you want.
