streaky Posted January 21, 2007 Share Posted January 21, 2007 My 97/98 Discovery series I V8 has a R380 box that has recently started to make 5th gear noises. Rather that trust the repair to local monkies I managed to source a 1990/2000 Discovery II V8 with a manual box and only 75,000 km on the clock. My transfer box is fine. Will the Disco II box fit my car or do I still need to find a Disco I with a R380? Will my existing transfer box bolt straight on to the later gearbox also? Thx, S.
