Jack
I have a 1981 3 speed RR with and LT230 transfer case. I have transplanted a newer instrument binnacle that includes a tacho and an odometer that works. The problem is that the speedo reads 19% high. I have sourced a company that makes ratio boxes but they need to know the screw thread on the transfer case to make the proper fitting unit. Any one know the answer? Jack Sydney. Jack
HERE Ok are these in the speedo itself and if so do LR dealers carry them as spares in the Antipodes?
white90
no these fit in the Transfer Box and should be available if not a UK supplier would post you one
minivin
If you have a 14D transfer case (1.003 ratio), the drive gear for the speedo is a five start item, while the driven gear is a 20T item (frc3310 blue), giving a ratio 2.222:1. If this is the case, then to increase the ratio by 19%, this would result in theoretically a ratio of 2.64418:1, and therefore a 24T (frc3313 red) would bring the speed down on the speedo. All in theory, if you can track a red cog down and have a play

I will get under this week end and pull out the sppedo drive to see what colour it is. Then to find a red one.... Jack
