Disco 300 Fuel Filter?

Hi All,

While laying under the wifes Disco pretending to be working while she`s cutting the grass, i saw what looked like a fuel filter attached to the offside chassis so questions are:

is it a fuel filter?

if not what is it?

sorry to be ignorant about this but never ran diesels before always V8s, still love the V8 but love the economy of the 300.

It's a fuel sedimentor.

They are a pig.

Pretend you haven't noticed it and have a nap.

If look at it for too long it'll leak.

If you touch it it'll leak.

A lot of folk remove them and pipe through from the fuel filter to the tank.

Thank you for that, shall now pretend it does not exist, unless it decides to leak all over, then its for the scrap box.

Yes as Les says - they leak. I had a 300tdi for 3 years which leaked from here. Never got any worse so I ignored it.....

or the fuel feed to the engine stops, then you might just have to clean the bowl out :0
