Modding TD5 Engine Mounts

smo

Recommended Posts

I have the need to lower my engine when it goes in the new D-Lander chassis, to do this unfortunatly i either have to make new mounts or mod the exising ones. The problem lies in that the existing rubber/steel mounts overhang the chassis rails by approx 10mm, hence need narrowing to fit between?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to do this as at nearly £80 each i dont really want to get it wrong and thought i would ask you lot of muchos technical prowess for advice first!

Second hand engine mounts will be a shed load cheaper than £80, then you can f*ck a few up

Why not remake the part thats bolted to the block to allow a bit of clearance?

Convert the root of all evil Td5 to take standard mounts as fitted to 200/300tdi and older engines?

Or, make your own engine mounts so that the engine doesnt fall out when you roll the truck?

Home made Captive mounts

QT also sell captive mounts
