MRWOO
Does anybody know if the main shaft into the transfer is cross drilled for lubrication? I do hope Land Rover haven't engineered this problem back in?
western
Would have thought so, with the latest incarnation of the LT230 Transferbox fitted.
Ex Member
Is there any particular reason you ask??
MRWOO
Is there any particular reason you ask?? No not really, other than I know how many time this has failed in the past. I didn't think having the new incarnation of the transfer box makes any difference, I thought the cross drilled shaft was the main shaft from the gearbox? Seeing as this is a new gearbox for Landrover (i.e Ford) the shaft may not be cross drilled...

It's actually the gear that's in the transfer that is cross drilled. the "main shaft" from the back of the gearbox is solid.
