Se7enUp
I have a friend who can make me a couple of spreader plates for my newly aquired Nato Hitch. Does anyone here have a diagram, drawing or a plan showing the required dimensions of the plates and location/diameter of the holes. (I'm putting a plate on both the front and rear of the crossmember) I'm knowhere near my Landie at the moment co can't get to measure it up Any help appreciated
Se7enUp
By spreaders I mean the plate bits in these photos (shamlesly copied from HFH's recovery article)
BogMonster
I might have one somewhere - will have a look later. The vehicle that towing hitch was bolted to is no longer mine so I don't have those two
Guest diesel_jim
The plate is about 5 or 6mm thick IIRC. not sure about the external dimension, but it's only got to fit in the gap behind the crossmember. the holes for the hitch bolts are: 13/4" x 33/8" (thats 44.5mm x 85.72mm) diameter is 9/16" (14.27mm) these are taken from the dixon bate spec sheet for the hitch.
