Les Henson
You would have to remove the pipe that connects to the bottom of the tank completely or there will be a permanent air trap in it. The thin hose would also have to be extended so that it's close to the bottom of the tank in order for it to suck water back as the engine cools down - same as a series 3 does. Les. Jon White
Why would you want to??? There is a steel one that has the outlet in the bottom of the tank also so this would be a straight swap for the placcy one. Its a common mod on vehicles that dont have the bottom outlet pipe to retro fit the later cooling system as it can solve some overheating problems. It improves the coolant flow, plus it helps with self bleeding of the cooling system. Jon
