ltwt1981
Noticed this morning on the Disco TD5 when stopped at office a noise like a bearing or similar. Best I can describe it is like the old lughtweight had an idler on the fan belt that always seemed to run on and make a noise. Ran on for probably 30 seconds or so. By the time I got the bonnet up it had stopped so restarted it stopped it and no noise. Coming from left front end, could it be the turbo although I thought they just went. Any idlers on the belts etc? Any help appreciated but it will only get worse and then I'll know what it is.
JimAttrill
It's the centrifugal oil filter spinning down after the engine has stopped. Scares lots of new TD5 owners so you are not alone. Some Engines do it and some don't.
