need4speed
After purchase of a galvanised chassis, is it worth painting it for even more protection? And if so, what should it be painted with? Would i be correct in assuming that the galv finish will require a special paint to adhere to it properly...
q-rover
It needs special primer. But you will also have to wash the chassis in a alkaline solution first if it is new, or leave it outside to "weather" for a few weeks, otherwise nothing will stick to it. Litch
Nothing you do do it will give it better protection, as long as it has been galvanised correctly it will outlive every other component on the vehicle and probably your ownership! Paint it if you want a black chassis instead of a silver one but don't think you have to.
