eletric window problem

Hi i am new tyo this site so bare with me..

I have a 3 door freelender v reg.

the drivers side window will not go back up when i press the electirc window button.

I have stripped the door and listened to the motor..when i press for the window to go down the motor makes a noise, BUT when i press for ithe window to go up the motor is silent.

Any one had this prolem????

Will it be the motor or the swith ...any idea how to sort this???

I have a piece of wood hold my window up at the moment

The easiest way to test the motor is to connect it straight to a 12v supply If the motor works from the supply directly you know it is the switch and vice versa.
