BoatBuoy Posted November 10, 2007 Share Posted November 10, 2007 I have been asked to ask (by her indoors' father), if a 300tdi (defender) starter motor will fit a 2.5 TD on an '86 plate. He has been told it will but is not convinced. Currently his old one is labouring, and has been replaced a couple of times. He is sure the leads to the starter motor are all tickety-boo. western Posted November 10, 2007 Share Posted November 10, 2007 Yes it will fit part number ERR5009 is used on both 2.5TD & 200/300Tdi engines this one is a Bosch unit. check/clean the engine to chassis & battery to gearbox earth leads too.
