Top90
My 07 defender 90 fuel gauge comes down to empty and the light comes on, then I can only fill it up with 10 gallons. So, assuming the rear 90 tank is 15 gallons that is a large reserve. Is this common other puma 90 owners? Richard
SteveG
The 90 tank is only 55 litres, so approx 12 gallons. 110 is 65 litres IIRC When I've taken mine down right to empty I've put 52 litres in. Cheers Steve
Top90
Aha, I thought the rear tank was a reasonable improvement in size over the earlier models with the side tank. Just checked with LR and it's only 13.2 gallons (60 litres). Still seems a big reserve though. Richard
Lightning
I'm told that in Germany they stipulate that every car sold there has to be able to do 50 miles after the reserve light comes on. This is to reduce the chance of people running out of fuel on the motorways (autobahns) there....the maximum distance between their motorway service stations is 50 miles. This may be a reason for the large reserve capacity on many vehicles.
JSG
All I know is that mine scares me when I fill it up and look at the price
