jameslwt
Further to my post in the Defender Forum, I have now given in and removed the heater unit (again) from my 1996 110. I have checked the blower motor works - off a 12 v supply. I know there's 12 v going to the multiplug (tested over 2 of the 3 terminals - whats the other one?!). So I'm thinking the resistor may be at fault - heater not blowing at all. So.....how can I test the resistor? (assuming I can?) Cheers James
LandyManLuke
you can test any resistor by putting a multimeter across it, which will give you a reading of resistance in Ohms. what reading you'll expect i can't say, but what's important is it isn't open (1) or short (0.00) circuited. miketomcat
something i found when i still had the disco was that part of the windings in the motor had shorted out so if the motor stopped in a certain position it wouldn't start again but if you spun it around a bit it would start fine mike
TheRecklessEngineer
Never had one fail myself, but i'm sure someone told me they are tempremental... Like Luke says, stick an MM over it and it will tell you the answer.
