RAF-mechanic
Merry christmas!!!!! Im after some more advice im after some opinions on this if you dont mind... My 3.5 efi range rover is not starting on its own... it will start with the use of easy start and runs OK, but even after a long run out, if the i turn her off she again wont start unless the spray is used... if anything its more embarassing having to dive under the bonnet every time i need to start the car!!! Also the car is drinking a ridiculous amount of fuel... maybe 1 or 2 mile to the gallon... When starting she coughs and splutters a little but sounds ok... i have increased the idle speed a little as without doing this she wont run at idle... I was wondering if there could be a problem with either the automatic choke being stuck on or off as i was having bad problems with her flooding... or whether my timing could be out slightly... i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or remedies for my problem and what i can do to improve my fuel consumption... Any suggestions are much appreciated... cheers chris
Highway_Star
Try disconnecting the cold start injector (it's the one on it's own at the back of the plenum). There's possible issues with the temperature sender, thermotime switch, ECU and wiring.
FridgeFreezer
Look in the tech archive, Nige has posted huge fault finding guides on EFi. Work through them methodically, if you get stuck post up.
